Simple Holiday Feast
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit generously gave me a Holiday Feast Meal to try and review. Dickey’s Holiday Feast includes Dickey’s Old Fashioned Cornbread Dressing, Dickey’s Green Beans with Bacon, Dickey’s Baked Potato Casserole, Dickey’s Toasted Turkey Gravy, Dickey’s Buttery Rolls and Dickey’s Smoked Turkey. Dickey’s even included butter for the rolls.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Holiday Feast
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit also offers Smoked Turkey or Cajun-Fried Turkey or a Spiral Cut or Barbecue Honey Ham. As you can see everything comes packaged nicely with directions on what to do on each item of food. WOW this was so easy and instead of me at the kitchen sink preparing the turkey getting it ready for the oven or peeling the potatoes I was watching television or playing a game of scrabble on my iPad.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Holiday Feast comes with all the instructions for preparing the meal and all you do is pop the goodies in the oven and bake. We opted for the Smoked Turkey in our meal and it was fully cooked and smoked so it only had to bake 2 hours and 15 minutes or until the thigh had an internal temperature of 165º. Then the cornbread stuffing, green beans with bacon and the potato casserole baked for an hour each. The only thing I had to do was heat the gravy and bake the rolls for about 9 minutes.
Of course I did not transfer any of the food into serving dishes because the kids and hubby were hungry so I just served it in the pans while Hubby cut the juicy turkey.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Smoked Turkey
Dickey’s Barbeque Pit Holiday Feast Turkey is a Butterball and was absolutely delicious and one of the juiciest I have ever had. The smoked flavoring was not over powering it was just right. The kids were just raving about how good the meal was and they said that you would never know it was from a restaurant because it had that home cooked experience.
Dickey’s Baked Potato Casserole
Dickey’s Baked Potato Casserole was just as good as the turkey. There are some in our family that does not like onions so I placed them on one side of the casserole before I baked it so that is why it looks funny here.
Dickey’s Old Fashioned Cornbread Dressing
It had been a long time since I had had cornbread dressing so I was excited that this came with the meal. It is really good and you put a little gravy on the top and it is super delicious.
I definitely enjoyed fixing Dickey’s Barbeque Pit’s Holiday Feast because I know I spent less than a half an hour in the kitchen actually cooking. What could be easier than taking food out of the oven and serving it? Oh and the best part is that if you went to the store and purchased all the items included in Dickey’s Barbeque Pit Holiday Feast you would spend more than if you would just go to Dickey’s Barbeque Pit and pick it up. I would say that the Holiday Feast would serve anywhere from 8 to 12 easily with plenty of leftovers for your guests to take home. Seconds or thirds anyone?
