How to Simplify the Dreaded k of Cleaning Your House Gutters
GutterBrush generously set me a set of brushes for the purpose of this review. I was very excited when I found the GutterBrush Company because my husband for years has spent hours cleaning our gutters several times in the fall and 3 to 4 times each spring. This spring we went to the Home Show and checked into getting gutter guards for our house. WOW! The prices of putting gutter guards on our house reached into the thousands of dollars. When you think about spending 3 to 4 thousand dollars on getting gutter guards you stop and think maybe hand cleaning the gutters 5 to 6 times a year is not so bad after all and if you are young that’s okay but when you are older, you need to consider your wellbeing and safety first.
When I found Gutter Brush LLC and the reasonable prices, I was relieved that my husband would no longer have to climb the ladder to clean the leaves and whirly gigs out of the gutters several times a year.
The GutterBrush is just that, nothing more than a brush that comes in 5 different diameters to fit any need. The most common residential gutter sizes are Standard 5″ or Oversized 6″. Most GutterBrush sections measure 3 foot long and they also include a couple 18 inch long brushes to fit shorter gutter sections without the need for any cutting. The brushes come in a rather large box but are packaged neatly in a cube.
Installation is extremely easy and quick. Depending on the size of your house, the job to install the GutterBrushes would take less than a couple of hours’ tops. Our house has roughly 288 feet of gutters and it only took less than 2 hours to complete the job and that was making sure the gutters were clean and getting the ladder out of the shed. My grandson was visiting at the time, so I had him help put the GutterBrushes in place.
You might be thinking, what about snow and ice. Will it affect the performance of the brushes? The brushes were developed and tested in Pennsylvania where they get a lot of snow and GutterBrush has been widely reported to help reduce ice dams and icicles because the black bristles radiate a little heat when exposed to the sun.
Some of the most difficult items that clog up your gutters are pine needles, seeds and small leaves but these will get caught in the top of the brushes and will dry out and blow away or break down into smaller pieces and pass through. There might be an occasion when you will have to remove the brushes and clean any debris but it is not something that will have to be done every year.
We have very large trees with large leaves on all sides of our house and the gutters can get rather full from time to time which clogs up the down spouts backing up water onto our roof unless the gutters are kept clean.
With the end of summer approaching and fall just around the corner, now is the time to eliminate the need to clean your gutters and guarantee your gutters are free flowing for all seasons.
