You will need the following materials:   

1. wire (20 gauge) 
2. ruler 
3. wire cutter 
4. multifaceted plastic beads (12mm, 6mm, and 4mm) 
5. needle nosed pliers  

How to make this awesome Dragonfly  

1.  Start by creating a long straight body.  Bend an 18 inch length wire in half.  Use the pliers to curl up the 2.4 inch section near the bend to make the tip of the Dragonfly’s tail.  Form the other end, slide nine 6 mm beads onto the doubled wire.  The add two 8 mm beads followed by one 8 mm bead.  

2.  Make the wings by threading eighty 6 mm beads on a 20 inch length of wire.  Bend the tips to keep the beads from sliding off; then shape the upper two thirds of the strand into a figure 8 for the top set of wings; next shape the lower third into a smaller set of wings.  

3.  Set the body on top of the wings and attach the two by wrapping the trailing wire ends of the wings around the body wire between the 8 mm beads, you can use larger or smaller beads if you would like.  My daughter used smaller beads and put more of them on there and it turned out amazing.
