Have you ever stopped to think about what things you can do with dryer sheets? It’s not something we think about, but there is so many things one can do with a simple little dryer sheet. When it comes to Fabric Softener Dryer Sheet, I’m one picky mom. I use dyer sheets for several things, and fragrance is important. Typically I stick with the same brand, and scent of dryer sheet. If it’s not fixed don’t break it right? I guess I could continue to think that way, but I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to try Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets, with a NEW improved formula that offers 3X the fragrance to help keep my life smelling fresh.
Why Use Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets?
If you have not had the opportunity to smell a Purex Dryer Sheet you’re missing out, but there’s so much more to it. They don’t just reduce static cling, and leave your clothing smelling fresh. You can use a Purex Dyer sheet to help keep so many other things fresh, especially since they have a NEW improved formula with 3X the fragrance!
Things you can do with Purex Dyer Sheets:
“Smelly Good Things” for your air filters – I know, maybe “Smelly Good Things” is not the proper name for it, but it’s what I call my fun dyer sheet air filter. Place a dyer sheet on an air filter for your heating or cooling system. It’s similar to the fresheners they sell for your heating or cooling system filters only smell better, and are less expensive. Smells GREAT and SAVES MONEY! What’s not to love?
“Smelly Good Things” Air Freshener – You can also keep dyer sheets in your closets, or on shelves.
Dyer Sheets for Storage – Before placing items in boxes or storage containers toss a dyer sheet in to keep it smelling fresh.
Dirty Laundry – Place a Purex Dyer Sheet on the bottom of your dirty cloths basket to help keep that dirty cloths smell away.
Stash a Dryer Sheet – Hey the kids do it with everything and anything they can get their hands on. Why isn’t it okay for mom to stash an awesome scented Purex Dyer Sheet behind the couch, under chairs, tables, entertainment centers, clocks, hanging pictures, under counters, or anywhere else that could use a fresh clean scent?
Bugs – I know it’s kind of gross, but it happens to all of us who drive. Those nasty bugs stuck on your windshield can be easily removed with a dryer sheet and water. Simply add a little water to your dyer sheet and rub on windshield to remove.
Dusting – Yes you can use them dust I personally use with my normal dusting spray. My sister-n-law doesn’t use any dusting spray. I guess you will have to try it both ways to see which you prefer.
Clothing – Carry a dyer sheet if your clothing develops static throughout the day simply run a Purex dyer sheet down your clothing to remove any static.
Pet hair – You can also use them to help repel pet hair.
Pillow – Place a dyer sheet in your pillow case.
Keep that vacuum fresh – Yes, place a Purex dyer sheet in your vacuum to keep it smelling fresh. Now when your vacuum blows air out it will smell fresh rather than dusty.
Use Purex in the office too – You can keep your office smelling fresh by placing Purex Dyer Sheets in your desk drawers, other drawers around the office, as well as behind filing cabinets, and stash them under things on your desk. I keep one under my pin holder. You cannot see it, and I get to enjoy that fresh scent while I work.
In the garage – Okay, so I have to be honest here. I don’t use them in my garage, because my husband has taken it over. I’m pretty sure he enjoys the “guy” smell lol. I tried to clean it up and make it smell good once, and I could tell he hated it. He did tell me thanks, but several weeks later can to me very sweet and asked me if he could talk to me. He sits me down. At this point I’m freaking out because he never does this, I’m thinking he’s going to tell me he fell in love with someone else. Finally he spits it out, “Babe thank you for cleaning my garage a while back, but please don’t do it again. I understand you are just trying to be nice, but the garage is the only place I have that doesn’t smell like girls.” Poor guy, I invaded the only manly space he has. It’s important to remember he lives in a house with 4 girls, and he does it gracefully too. I guess I can allow him his space, lol.
However, you can use the in the garage too if you’re allowed to help clean up. You can place them all over depending on how your garage is set up. Be creative and tuck them away in drawers, on shelves and anywhere else you find fit. B
Traveling – When traveling toss one in your suitcase or any other bags your taking along to keep everything inside smelling great. You can also place one in your handbag. I keep one in the side pocket of my handbag that I don’t use, it doesn’t zipper shut. I fold it up, and stick a new one in when needed.
Vehicles – Don’t’ forget to keep your car smelling fresh by placing a dyer sheet in your glove box, under seats, sun visors, under floor mats, as well as air vents. If you’re wondering how to place a dyer sheet on the vent in your car it’s about getting creative. I have used an old air freshener that clips on to my vent, removed the old scent pack, folded up a dyer sheet very small and placed it into the slot where the scent pack would have been placed. Get creative, and make your car smell fresh and clean using a Purex Dyer Sheet.
Bug repellent – Have you ever heard of people using liquid fabric softener with water as a bug repellent? Why not just use a Purex dryer sheet, they help repel most insects. If you don’t want to rub the dryer sheet on your skin you can rub it on your clothing and hair to help repel insects.
Hair – In the dry, static cling months I carry a dryer sheet just for my hair. When my hair gets static I simply run the dryer sheet down my hair and BAM static is gone.
There are so many uses for a Purex Dyer Sheet it’s crazy not to have them around the house all the time. Not to mention with the NEW formula 3X the fragrance you cannot go wrong with Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets. Thank you for the tips. Some of these things I did not know. I will have to share these with my wife.
I do the pillow case thing to!! I love fresh sheets, but that makes the whole bed and bedroom smell like clean and fresh!@
Once my co-worker’s mother had on a robe that was lined with dryer sheets that were sticking out because she wanted to keep the mosquitoes away.
Super awesome ideas. Also save the used ones they are great for scrubbing out the tub and sink.
How can one little dryer sheet do so much multi-tasking?It’s fascinating!I have also heard that they do wonders on mirrors.
nice tips. I definitely use dryer sheets when I travel. Especially when I have to store dirty laundry in my luggage. I’ll see if I can sneak in a dryer sheet with my husband’s softball bag…that can get pretty stinky
I luv the idea of cleaning the bugs off your winshield with them, they won’t scratch.
My idea is to put them in your kids gym shoes…helps to keep them smelling fresh!
I put dryer sheet in the bottom in my laundry hamper and in my clothes drawer.
I use them in my underwear drawer. I just like the smell.
Who knew there were so many extra uses for dryer sheets!! I usually just keep one in with my clothes to keep them smelling fresh. My favorite new use is to put a dryer sheet in the vacuum, I can’t stand that musty smell that comes out of the vacuum, thank you!!
We use them for mosquito repellent.
AMAZING WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH DRYER SHEETS
I use them in quilting. I make crazy quilt blocks, using the dryer sheet as interfacing.
Jenn, I thought I was the only one that knew that secret. I have been doing it for years. I also take a spray bottle and put a lid full of april fresh downy and then 1 cup of water and I walk around the house spraying it in the air so it hits bed covers, blankets, pillows and even my clothes-lol
I cannot use dryer sheets 🙁 I love the smell, but it does not agree with my family long term,. My dad uses them in his vehicle, he puts them under the mats in his car, he also tears one in half and puts them in under the soles in his shoes 🙂
I use dryer sheets in the clothes hamper. I’ve heard about using them as a bug repellant. I didn’t know how so I stuck a couple under my bra straps.I was in the yard with my husband. He knows I’m weird anyways. I wouldn’t just walk around like that!
Layer the dryer sheets between the mattress and boxspring, and it will keep bedbugs away. Don’t ask how I know this!
I read somewhere online that dampened dryer sheets work to get rid of soap scum on glass shower doors. Works pretty well!
