I love technology; it’s amazing what we can do with our phones. I use my phone for everything – pay bills, emails, text, talk, social media, and business, browse the web, shop, information about food, diets, and managing my health. I use my smartphone more than I use a computer or tablet. It’s convenient for me to use my cell phone to access whatever I need.
Technology allows individuals to manage their health in ways that better fit their lifestyle. Here is three ways technology has allowed me to take charge of managing my health.
Technology Helps Me Stay Motivated
I have been trying to lose weight for a while now, but I never incorporated technology with my weight loss plan. One day I ran into a post listing all these different apps that one might find motivating, I downloaded a few, deleted some, and added new ones that fit my lifestyle better, and it has helped me stay motivated more than I thought. Whether it’s inputting my weight daily, seeing how many calories I put into my body in black and white, calories burned, or the inspirational quote I need to read now and again, technology has played a huge role in helping me stay motivated. The best part is that everything I need in on my smartphone, I do not even have to turn on the computer, or wait until I get home. I just grab my phone, click here, and input or open whatever I need! Gotta love it!
I Always Have Help
If I ever have a question about a symptom, or something healthcare related I start by looking online, and I typically use my smartphone first. It’s the most conveniently, and I can read the same information from my smartphone that I can from my PC. I always follow up on what I read, but it gives a place to start. I also find great healthy recipes for my family.
Healthcare Management and Organization
I can access just about anything I need to by grabbing my mobile device and opening an app, search engine, or email. I also use refill reminds to help track my sons prescriptions, calander to keep up with doctors visits and other appointments, as well as track my weight loss, calories consumed, steps taken, calories burned, etc to help keep me motivated to lose weight. When I am pregnant I can use my smartphone to help tack appointsments, what the baby is doing, as well as healthy tips. There is a plenty of ways for peope to manage their helathcare. You need to find what works best for you and your family.
Technolgy has helped me better manage my family’s health in a way that fits our lifetyle., and using our smartphones is easier than ever, thanks to Aetna Foundation’s Digital Health Initiative. They realized what an important part mobile technology plays in many of our lives, and have started to reach people with health solutions that fit into their lives.
On February 5th, 2014 Aetna Foundation announced they would donate more than $1. Million dollars in grants to support the use of digital health technology (including mobile health or mHealth). It is part of a larger $4 million three-year digital health commitment from the Aetna Foundation for the implementation and evaluation of technology innovation to help address public health concerns.
When trying to find the best technology for you and your family be sure to choose something that fits your lifestyle. Whether it is starting to email with your doctor, or using fitness apps to stay on track, technology can be a great way to manage you and your family’s health. Smartphones allow people access to what they need at their convenience.
The infographics, suggests technology improve healthcare and exercise; I personally have found that to be true. It provides me with an easy and convenient way to access anything needed to care for my family. Whether it’s the app that motivated me to lose weight, or access my son’s prescription management.
