Do you have too much on your plate to get done is a day?  Are you feeling overwhelmed?  It’s okay; it happens to all of us, and I’m going to share a few ways you can take control of your day again.

Planning your day can help

Don’t just assume you can get everything done, plan your day, so you have enough time to get everything done.  Don’t over plan, it’s one of the quickest ways to leave yourself feeling overwhelmed before the day is even over.

Remember you do not have to control everything

I know this is easier said than done, especially if you have children.  However, it’s important for you to realize you do have limits and having them is okay.  It took me a long time to learn how to let go of the control but once I finally made myself stop and accept the fact that I cannot control everything and help is a good thing.

Stop trying to be perfect

Remember nobody is perfect we are all entitled to mistakes.  The sooner you can accept that the better off things will be.  You don’t have to be an overachiever, just be yourself and use the lessons in life to learn and grow.

Ask for help

Once you have learned that you can’t and don’t want to control, everything remembers to reach out for help.  I think you’ll be surprised not only how many people are happy to lend a hand but they might even do a great job.

Take a deep breath and step away for a moment

When you start feeling overwhelmed step away, go to another room, take a deep breath and collect your thoughts for a moment.  It’s comforting for me just to go into my bedroom and take a few minutes all to myself.

Kevin Can Wait

Keven Can Wait is super funny and even relatable, lol.  In case you have not seen it yet, it’s about a recently retired police offers that are looking forward to quality time with his family, but nothing is as easy as it seems.  Keven quickly learned that he faces tough challenges at home that are even more complicated than his days fighting crime on the street.  If you have children, I’ sure you can relate lol.

Kevin Gable is played by Keven James, and he does what so many of us want to do, retire at 45.  His 14-year-old daughter Sara is played by Mary-Charles Jones, 20-year-old daughter Kenda is played by Taylor Spritzer.   And ten-year-old son Jack is played by James Digiacomo.  Oh and Keven’s wifeDonna is played by Erinn Hays, who is a school nurse and wants to rent out their converted garage apartment into a complicated completion for occupancy.

You see so it doesn’t matter whether it’s at Keven’s retirement party or if he is just making plans with the boys.  He quickly realizes that life at home isn’t going to be as carefree as he once thought.  Regardless of the companionship of good friends and loving family, Kevin will make the most out of his next chapter in life and without a doubt make you smile while doing so.
