Father’s Day is right around the corner. How will you make Father’s Day special this year? Normally we do breakfast in bed, spoil dad all day, and have an awesome dinner, but this year I wanted to do something a little different to make Father’s Day extra special this year. The kids and I have thought long and hard and we have come up with a few ways to make Father’s Day extra special this year so I thought I would share a few ideas with you because dad and mom deserve to feel extra special on their day, right!
Tips To Make Father’s Day Extra Speical This Year
Here are a few tips to help you make Father’s Day extra special this year. After all, it’s been a long year and dad deserves and extra special day, right.
Take away the stress – Anything that is going to cause dad any stress, don’t make him deal with it. Try to make Father’s Day the one day dad can, sit back and relax.
Take dad somewhere – I know, money can be difficult, but remember you don’t have to take dad on a week vacation. Plan a day at the park, visit garage sales, or whatever dad likes to do. It’s his day, take the whole family and do whatever dad loves and involve the whole family. If he is anything like my husband, it will mean a lot to have the whole family taking part in something he enjoys.
Don’t forget it’s Father’s Day – It’s easy to wake up, serve dad breakfast in bed, and say Happy Father’s Day, but make sure this continues throughout the day. You don’t have to go overboard and make things cheesy, but dad will love the extra attention.
Ask him if there is anything special he has been waiting to do early – Ask him if there is anything he’s been wanting to do early, so he doesn’t think anything about Father’s Day. When the time rolls around, BAM you know what he enjoys.
Mommy and daddy time – After the kids go to sleep make sure there is a little time for just the two of you.
Let dad know you think about him all the time – We’ve started collecting things when we see things that remind us of him while we are out and about and are creating him a Father’s Day gift basket. It’s going to be awesome, and have a nice personal touch, thanks to Coke.
Make things personal – To make things a little more personal we’re planning on writing a letter to dad. Thanks to Coke we’ve been able to take things a step further by adding a coke with a saying on it that reminds us of him. I picked Soulmate and Better Half, my daughter picked, Adventurer, and my youngest thinks she wants Sidekick, but she’s not sure yet, lol.
Think about dad daily – A week before Father’s Day start doing little things for him to let him know you’re thinking about him – get him a Coke with his name on it, grab one that says something sweet or reminds you of him, etc. You know dad best, so do little things to make him smile.
Has you can see by several of the above images Coke has some pretty great ways to help make Father’s Day special this year. I have several that remind me of him, one with his name (spelled correctly), and two special Cokes that say mom and dad and two glasses for after the kids are in bed. Shhhh, don’t tell them mom and dad are planning on staying up for an extra Coke float, lol.
I found Cokes at my local Giant Eagle and you can too. They were located in several different areas around the store – with drinks, display at the front of the store, as well as a display in front of the drink aisle. You’ll find Coke’s with names, sayings, and even fun emoticons. Top find your name visit Share a Coke.
