Saving for my children’s future is important to me so I do my best to put a little money up for them each month if I can. Using a few tricks, I’m able to save enough money every month to put a little something up for the kids. Some months I’m not able to but more often than not I’m able to put money on each mother for the children.
Tips To Save Money After Having a Baby
Below are a few tips I have used to save money after having a baby. I hope you at least find a few tips that help you and your family save a little extra money after having a baby. Good Luck!
Start a budget
Budgeting is always the first step to saving money. You’ll want to see the how much money you have coming in and going out each mother so you can determine where you’re able to cut back so you can save money.
Request coupons and samples
If you’re a new mom, you’ll want to get samples so you can try before buying. Plus, when you requestion samples manufacturers often send coupons, or you can request some and most will be more than happy to send them out.
Breastfeed your little one
Not only is it better for your baby but breastfeeding your child will save you big bucks in the long run.
Consider investing in a breast pump
Consider investing in a breast pump; it will come in handy if you have to leave the baby with someone and are not able to nurse. I don’t suggest going cheap because you truly get what you pay for when it comes to pumps. Well, that” been my experience.
Don’t’ go crazy on the toys
The chance of your little one playing with 20 different toys is slim until they get older. Save your money until they are older, then go toy crazy. There will be a day when they need 20 toys to keep them busy lol.
Enjoy the little things
Remember you don’t have to make a big fuss about everything! Chances are your baby won’t remember, but they will remember the time you spent with them and the bond you create. So focus on the things that are important, like time together.
Consider staying home
I don’t know how much daycare is where you live, but it’s about $600 a month for each child here in southern New Mexico. I have two, soon to be three who will be going to daycare which means I’ll be working to pay someone else to raise my kids. NOPE, I’ll stay home and take care of things. However, you may want to work and get away from the house which is fine. It’s just something to consider.
Upcycle Baby furniture
Rather than running out and buying all new furniture for the baby why don’t you consider upcycling? Not only can you find some great deals at garage sales and friends the furniture will mean more to you because you put your time into it rather than your money.
Don’t go crazy buying baby clothes
Trust me; you don’t want to waste your money on extra clothes. Your child will grow so fast the chances of them wearing all their clothing is slim. I gave away plenty of clothing that still had tags. You’re your money or if you just really want to get something buy a few sizes bigger.
Store rewards programs
Make sure you are taking part in store rewards programs! They often reward you with points for shopping which them which can be used to purchase something or just get a discount. Be sure and check with all the places you shop to see if they have a rewards program.
Shop online
I shop online because I can compare prices, search for discount codes, and by the time, it’s all said and done save a little money.
Save money on diapers
Saving money on diapers is HUGE considering you’ll be using them for the next few years. Not to worry, you can still score the same great quality you are used to and pay less with brands like Luvs. With my first child, I was all about using the best and only the best. As my daughter got older, I started experimenting with diapers and liked Luvs.
Luvs Diapers gives babies the protection they need at an affordable price. Luvs diapers have Ultra Leakguards with NightLock™ Plus to lock away wetness even overnight. They also include refastenable stretch tab, a contoured shape to hug your baby and keep them nice and comfy, and they are cottony soft, so they are comfortable on baby’s delicate skin.
Be sure and check out the Luvs Pinterest page. You’ll find all sorts of great information!
