Top 5 Spa Treatments that Keep You Looking Young

Nearly everyone has been to the spa at one point or another in their life.  Most people go to the spa fore relaxation and rest.  What many people are not aware of is that they can actually go to the spa to help look younger.  Many spa treatments can be just as beneficial as going to the dermatologist and some dermatologist treatments can be done at the spa.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing can help you look younger in more than one way.  You will have less wrinkles on your skin.  This is because you are helping to get rid of the dead skin cells while stimulating collagen and new skin cell growth.  The way that this works is that the laser is able to send tiny light waves through your pores into the deep layers of your skin.  This fast-forwards collagen production.  Depending on the lasers that are used, the recovery time can change.  New lasers actually use a process that allows for the recovery time to be sped up.

Light Treatment

Light therapy is a series of treatments that are going to help you to take years off of your skin with the use of lights.  The lights penetrate through the pores (much like laser treatments) and allow for the collagen in the skin to be produced at a quicker rate.  The light will help to cause new skin cells to grow as well.  Light treatment can be used for more than anti-aging treatments as well.  In fact, light treatment can be used for acne, fighting against skin cancer, and even for rosacea.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can also help you to reduce the signs of aging and look younger.  The way that this works is that a chemical is applied to the skin.  This chemical actually burns the skin and causes the skin to blister and fall off of your face.  It is very important that a chemical peel only be administered by someone who has the proper certifications and training to avoid serious skin injuries and possible scarring.  Once the old skin has peeled off you are left with the younger and healthier skin that is underneath.  Chemical peels can help to reduce age spots, get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, help with certain types of acne, improve small scars, and help to get rid of skin that has been damaged by the sun.

Wrinkle Injections

There are a number of different types of wrinkle injections.  In fact there are four different types of injections that have been approved by the FDA to be safe.  These are Artifill, Perlane, Radiesse, and Juvederm.  You can have these injections done in any place on the body but they are generally just used for the wrinkles that are seen on the face.  The main reason for this is that most people do not want to spend the money on other areas of their body that are not as visible.

Microdermabrasian is a spa treatment that is used to get younger looking skin.  Tiny rough grains are applied to the skin so that the top layer of skin can be scrubbed off.  There is an abrasion tool that is used during the process and some tools resemble small electric sanders which can be used to get rid of the top layer of skin on the face.  It is important to remember with this skin treatment that your skin is going to be very sensitive to sunlight afterward that you need to avoid being outside and make sure that you are wearing a very high SPF for any sun exposure (even riding in the car).

When you plan on going to the spa to look younger there are some things that you need to remember.  One is that you want to inspect and make sure that they are using professional equipment for younger looking skin.  This can help you to avoid injuries from the wrong types of equipment being used.  You also want to make sure that staff is certified to do the procedures that you are getting done.  Finally remember to take some time to check up on the spa and do your research before booking your appointment.
