Remodeling your kitchen or bath doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg if you use an affordable makeover kit from Giani Granite.
Update your Kitchen or Bath Economically with Giani Granite
Remodeling can cost a fortune. In updating my kitchen, I debated whether to purchase new countertops or keep the old ones I already have. I riced both granite and quarts countertops but he expense was not in my budge, and sine I have other project pending, I decided to keep the countertops I have since they are structurally sound.
I used the Giani Granite Countertop Kit in the past in my bath when I lived in Florida and was very pleased with the results. So, I decided I would attempt to redo my kitchen countertops with the Giani Granite Kit only instead of using the Sicilian Sand color, I opted for the Chocolate Brown.
Thank you, Giani Granite, for allowing me to review your Giani Granite Kits. I received this product from Giani Granite for review purposes only. All opinions are 100% my own.
Most everything that you need comes in the kit. While the kit includes all the essential items – the remaining items that you will need are average household items: rubber gloves, caulking, paint tray, painter’s tape, sand paper and sanding block.
The Giani Granite kit comes with a very thorough instruction sheet on how to use the kit. The instruction sheet also lists some tips, which came in handy. How-To Videos are available online which demonstrates the proper method to apply the paint, what order the paint should be applied, as well as some tips for the application process itself.
My countertop at the start of my project.
While the countertop looks in relatively good shape, there were some nicks which I had to touch up prior to cleaning the same with scouring pads.
After reading the instructions twice over, and watching the video again, my sister and I taped off the area where I was bound to get some of the paint.
Once the countertop was taped off and cleaned thoroughly, I applied the primer (Step 1). Even though my countertop was black to begin with, I needed to cover the areas I repaired.
Next, I practiced the suggested dabbing method.
Then I began the process of dabbing on the minerals. First with the Brown Feldspar (Step 2A) followed by Inca Gold (Step 2B). Finally, I applied the Chocolate Brown (Step 2C).
Prior to applying the different colors (Steps 2A, 2B, and 2C), I allowed the countertop to dry the required amount of time. A few touch ups were needed with the different colors to achieve the desired effect.
Next, according to the instructions, I applied the topcoat (Step 3). In total, I applied the topcoat three separate times. Again, allowing sufficient drying time before applying each coat.
Isn’t the finished product beautiful? This project has saved me so much that I decided to purchase a new kitchen sink and faucet; however, they are on backorder. This product has made a huge difference in the appearance of my kitchen. Thank you Giani Granite!
