I can not believe it has been over 30 years since NES was Introduced to us worldwide! I’m happy to welcome you to the wonderful world of Nintendo! In mid-1985, Nintendo became an overnight sensation and was a big hit. Over the next couple of years, NES rapidly revitalized the video game industry forever, selling over “60 million” systems, wow that’s incredible! For the first time in gaming history, people were introduced to popular games like Mario and Zelda. NES has been thriving ever since coming out with new games and monitors that have taken over our family game rooms, bringing us into the fabulous 2016 NES gaming world! Hey, we were one of the first families to jump aboard and are proud to be a part of the Nintendo family.
In 2006, Nintendo introduced the Wii, back then we were impressed with it’s advanced, revolutionary features. We are talking 2006 when this was considered the high-tech deal, so the WII’s wireless motion-sensitive remote controllers, built-in Wi-Fi capability, and a host of other features, made it the best-selling, latest generation family console system in the world! In this marvelous year of 2016, the Wii U has taken over with It’s entirely new system that has changed the way we experience home and on the go entertainment. We received a wonderful package from Nintendo that included the Mario Kart 8Deluxe Wii U Set with DLC, a 3DS, a Yoshi Ami IBO and a couple of really awesome games.
The Wii U Game Pad controller removes the original stoppers between you, your TV, and your games, with an another window that brings you into the video gaming world. Because the GamePad has a tablet-style design, it allows the kiddos to play games when the TV is in use, loving this!! The Wii U has a 6.2 inch LCD touch screen, the traditional button controls and two analog sticks. Niko loves that the GamePad also includes motion control, a front-facing camera, microphone, rumble features, stereo speakers a sensor bar and a stylus. We parents love that is equipped with support for Near Field Communication (NFC), weighs about 1. lbs, which means it’s the perfect weight for little hands and wrists. The Wii U is also powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that has a pretty good lifespan.
With the Wii U, there are so many different ways to hold and play. This system streams super fast, and you can even use it to replace your regular TV remote. That’s right; the Wii U can also control your TV functions right from the pad. We rally enjoy being able to sit together and use the Wii U in the family room with everyone in their favorite spot, versus all of us crowded together all cramped up on the couch just to play. We can also add our original Wii controller to the Wii U for a bigger and better family gaming experience
Another super cool thing about the Wii u is not only can we play the newest Nintendo exclusives, including hits like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Mario Kart 8. We can also play nearly all of our existing Wii games on the Wii U; this means we don’t lose any of our game libraries. Also, we have the ability to transfer downloaded WiiWare and Virtual Console games, and we can game save data from our original Wii console to the Wii U console.
Talk about getting your game on, this bad boy rocks!! The Wii U does have a growing library of exclusive games that you won’t find anywhere else. Nintendo’s biggest icons are featured on the Wii U, like Zelda, Super Mario, Mario Kart, and even the newest being- Super Smash Bros and Kirby. The Wii U’s software has been improved and upgraded giving you a gaming experience of a lifetime, best of all, it’s kid-friendly. Niko loves his WiiU, he certainly is a Nintendo kid!
You can open up all kinds of new gameplay possibilities with your Wii U by adding Ami IBO and other accessories. Just tap an Ami IBO to the GamePad and score in-game extras like new characters and costumes, across many different Nintendo games. We have Yoshi, he is so cool, the Ami IBO additions to the Wii U gaming experience is ingenious and a lot of fun
We are all familiar with the Nintendo DSI portable system, my Niko has the DSI 1, and loves it. In April, NES introduced their newest, revised portable system the 3DS with two cameras and wireless access to downloadable games via the Nintendo DSI Shop with the 3DS. They included the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, making the motion controls even more precise and the best way to play games on-the-go! With the DSI 3, you can also now view your games in 3D without the use of those bulky 3D glasse. As you can see it is beautiful; I mentioned Niko did have the DSI1 and didn’t want to upgrade because he loved it that much. Needless to say, he quickly changed his mind once he got his hands on the 3DS! The design of the 3DS is simple, like the original, it’s nice, shiny and feels great in your hands. The original snap open shape design is still the same; they did make it a tad bit larger to accommodate a bigger display.
This Nintendo system has gone under a few changes like the addition of the right-stick near the front face buttons and more powerful “guts” that prove to be an awesome upgrade. Check out the side by side for the 3DS and my Niko’s DSI1, you can see the size is a little bigger, but it surly is a way better system!
Nintendo 3DS games will work on multiple systems, including Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo 2DS. This gives you broader options to play games from older systems like Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSI; this makes it easier to upgrade to a new system without losing your game library. Niko loves that the 3DS has 3D Face-tracking, he jumps into game worlds that are simply out-of-this-world! Plus, you can take 3D photos, create 3D movies, and view AR Cards that bring characters to life. He also loves all the wonderful new 3DS games from Nintendo like Disney Art Academy and Kirby Planet Robobot!
But that’s not all, social features like StreetPas and Miiverse, allow players to interact with other fans. They can play together locally or online in compatible games. Niko has a blast creating his Mii characters, switching them with his connected friends, and playing different games with the characters he has collected. The 3DS has themes for your home menu, complete with music and animations. Niko’s favorite feature is he can use the 3DS to watch his favorite videos and shows on YouTube, HuluPlus, or Netflix right on his system. The 3DS also gives him the ability to find game tips, news, or funny pictures on the Internet with the built-in browser.
With the 3DS, there’s a huge variety of games to choose from; you’ll find tons of classic, retro and latest games, perfect for sharing with the kids. Shop 24/7 on Nintendo.com or visit the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS system.
