There is not a whole lot that beat a family movie night with popcorn. I just love spending quality time with my family, it’s even better when we are able to invite friends, and if you have not tried the new Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn you are missing out on the perfect addition to an evening with family and friends. I was recently lucky enough to host a Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn “Munch ‘n Movie” event at my home. Needless to say, I was super excited to get my MommyParty started I couldn’t wait to bust into that Werther’s Original Caramel Popcorn. It’s two of my favorite things, Werther’s and caramel popcorn. I’m a bit of an addict.
Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn
Caramel has always been one of my favorite sweets. There is something about it, that’s just so darn delicious. I can say no to chocolate, cakes, cookies, but caramel is another story. It’s my weakness, and one of my favorite caramel treats has always been Werther’s Originals hard candies. If you love caramel popcorn this is the ULTIMATE caramel popcorn – once you try a bite you will never go back to traditional caramel popcorn. Close your eyes and imagine real caramel popcorn fresh from the caramel shoppe – smooth, creamy caramel perfectly popped popcorn. Yes, it’s seriously that good, and I am seriously hooked lol.
Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn “Munch ‘n Movie” what an amazing way to spend the evening. I truly couldn’t think of anything better to do than spend time with those I care about, enjoying an awesome movie, and enjoying one of my new favorite treats. I have always told you I would be 100% honest with you, and I know I wasn’t supposed to do it, but I couldn’t’ help it. I totally snuck into one of my bags of popcorn. It was calling me by name I kid you not.
See I receive this awesome package complete with everything I needed to have the best movie night ever – invitations, coupons (which I had a hard time sharing, lol), a movie (one of my favorites, Sour Surfer), recipe cards, Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn, and a few other things. I did good for the first 20 to 30 minutes, but after that I couldn’t help it I had to answer the popcorn. Before I knew it the bag was gone… Opps lol! Good thing I had 11 bags to go, and my husband would be home soon so he could hide it from me. True story, I hate to admit it, but yes this stuff had to be taken outside and stashed in my husband garage behind lock and key so I wouldn’t eat it all. I mean what would a Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn “Munch ‘n Movie” party be without the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn – a Munch ‘n Movie.
Too bad he is now BUSTED, while I was hard at work cooking he somehow managed to sneak into a bag! HUMMM, now that I think about it he had been spending more time than normal in his garage. Probably eating the popcorn!
I had planned to make up super cute goodie bags, and all kinds of stuff but I had to stay away from the popcorn! There is some GREAT recipes on the Wearther’s Website I really wanted to try, but I figured I can try them another time when my party doesn’t depend on the popcorn. I was able to come up with something a little fun, super yummy, and only took about 5 minutes. I was also able to make some super cute Halloween bags since I didn’t need popcorn around to do those, lol.
First I made a super yummy sweet, yet salty treat that was a huge hit with my husband. He was supposed to be watching me, and I ended up kicking him out of the kitchen because he wouldn’t stay out of it. I didn’t have a problem staying away from it, because I only wanted the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn, lol.
Werther’s Caramel Popcorn Snack Mix Recipe
It only takes about 5 minutes and is the perfect finishing touches to any party:
Ingredients
- 1 Bag of Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn
- 3-4 Cups of Salty Pretzels
- 2 Cups Peanuts
- 1/2 Bag of Chocolate Chips or M&M’s
Directions
In a large party bowl mix everything together and enjoy!
When I realized we would be watching SOUL SURFER for our party I couldn’t help but get excited. It’s an older movie, but such a good movie! If you have not seen it, I totally recommend checking it out. It’s an amazing family friendly film, an inspiring true story about a teen surfer chick Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack. She courageously overcame everything and became a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith. I truly don’t know of a movie that sends a better message! The kids make fun of me because I cry at the end every single time!!
Finally everyone showed up and it was time to watch Soul Surfer and eat the popcorn, but let me tell you Soul Surfer and Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn does strange things to teens. I’m not sure if I am going to let my oldest daughter invite her friends over, lol. They are so strange, especially after watching Soul Surfer, and eating caramel popcorn. I found them in the kitchen, SURFING TOGETHER! Do they even make boards that big? Do these kids even know we don’t live anywhere close to an ocean? I still wonder if they are able to walk and chew bubble gum, lol.
I love Caite and her friends, they have grown up in my house, but as they get older I’m not sure what is happening to them. Not really, they are awesome and had a blast! In the end that is all that matters! Notice my toddler – she looks up to those girls so much! I’m so thankful they are good kids, weird, but good!
We had a blast, everyone enjoyed the popcorn, movie and most importantly everyone’s company! We really just enjoyed one another’s company, relaxed, and enjoyed popcorn. Even our pitbull Skittles loved the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn! There is nothing better than spending quality time with family and friends watching an awesome movie, laughing, smiling, and enjoying amazing Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn! Everyone enjoyed the popcorn, when the party was over, and everyone went home there was no popcorn left. Luckily I was able to hand out goodie bags, and coupons lol.

OMG there are addicts for Werthers like me! I swear my husband hides mine too! But suddenly I went to my Safeway and it was gone!! Why did they stop selling it??? I searched every Safeway in a 50 mile radius, that’s how bad I want it. If I had known I would of bought an entire pallet. Later I found it on Amazon but they were actually selling it for $66 an 8 oz bag! Even I have my limits. Then it was on there for $33 a bag, still no can do and finally found it for $ 6.57 a bag and I bought 9 bags. They are gone and I got them just before Xmas. I have to work out every single day to keep up this habit! Now I’m worried about diabetes and my teeth. It’s truly insane how much I love that stuff. I found more on EBay and bought all 7 bags. Sick, sick ,sick! I am just wondering what’s going on that they only brought it out for a season? Which of course just made me more on a crazy frenzy to find it? Help!

i do love werthers caramel! when i was on the south beach diet i ate their sugar free hard candies and they were very good. i bet this popcorn is very good, and if i put the bag by my dog like you have in the picture she would gobble it up real quick! lol!

Yum! I didn’t even know Werther’s made Caramel Popcorn! I wonder if it’s available in Canada? Hmmm….that could be dangerous! I love Werther’s and I’m crazy about caramel popcorn! If they don’t have it here, I’ll pick some up next time I go to the US, which will be within the next month sometime. Not soon enough!
I have always loved Cracker Jacks and popcorn. So I know without a doubt that I would truly love Werther’s Caramel popcorn. I can’t wait to go out and by some to try. Thanks for the wonderful review. Wow, you sold me on this popcorn – I really want to try it! When I make it at over the holidays, I always add more of the caramely stuff than the recipe calls for, and Werthers sounds even better than mine. And I can totally relate to you about sharing the coupons!!
