How many cards do you carry in your wallet?
If you are like me, the number is probably something like 37. I have my driver’s license and insurance cards and credit cards and debit cards and store loyalty cards and I don’t even know any more. My wallet weighs about five pounds all by itself. Finding the particular card I need takes about 20 minutes on average. And heaven forbid I forget to put the card back in my wallet. Then that time goes up another 10 minutes. It’s a disaster.
The hubby? Not so much. And I’m just a little bitter about it. The hubby is now taking advantage of a Wocket. What is a Wocket? It’s not a Dr. Seuss book. Wocket is a new Smart Wallet. Now I know you are asking what the heck a Smart Wallet is. How can a wallet be smart? It’s a wallet. It holds cards.
Well that’s what Wocket does. It holds your cards. All of them. And it holds them in a secure electronic format that only you can use. It’s so simple, its genius. And I want one. The Wocket Smart Wallet is a little (smaller than a men’s wallet) electronic device. It comes with a programmable secure credit card (with your name laser etched onto it) and a card reader. Charge it up (it is supposed to stay charged for up to 6 months), attach the included card reader and start swiping your credit and debit cards to program them into your Wocket. It has a touchscreen for you to enter loyalty card numbers too. Then when it comes time to pay, you just put in your pin number to unlock the device (voice recognition is coming soon), select the card you want from the touchscreen and it programs your card. Slide the card out and just swipe like normal. Need to use a loyalty card? Put in your pin, select the loyalty card you need and it displays the barcode. Need to pay a bill online? Hit the little lock icon and it shows the full card number, expiration date and 3 digit security number. This thing is genius. Is it perfect? No, but you know what? I have places that have to swipe my debit card 14 times to get it to read too. Seriously, have you ever seen someone wrap a piece of paper around your card to swipe it? A local coffee shop that shall remain nameless has to do that all the time with my debit card. Wocket beats that easily. Now I just need to get my own Wocket. Or steal the hubby’s.
