*I received product in exchange for my honest review*
As a baby is going through changes so does mom, and some babies go through more than others, which isn’t limited to feeding trouble, colic, acid reflux, fussiness, overwhelmed feelings, sadness, etc. We all want to be less stressed in taking care of a new baby right? When our babies are born they are more than 90% swaddled (after skin to skin, if allowed in hospitals.) And thinking and trying to remember how to swaddle when you are sleep deprived is draining. For babies who have a great strength of startle reflex isn’t the greatest, and sometimes can lead to scares for parents who realize their baby just covered their face with their swaddle blanket. Realizing there wasn’t any type of product Karen Barski decided to create her own company called KB Designs LLC, which is Woombie and their new line of Mod’Swad. Karen is also an RN and BSN, who wanted to create a swaddle that can stretch, breathable, and doesn’t keep babies arms on their side. Many prototypes later Woombie was born, and the product was launched in 2007 nationally and worldwide in 2008. What is unique about Woombie is the peanut/nut-shell type design. Karen believes if her products do not pass CPSIA testing they do not sell!
We received 1 The ‘Leggies’ Woombie, Convertible or Non-Convertible Arms in Blue Moo (0-3M, 5-13lbs.) What is great about this type of Woombie is the optional open or closed arms for baby when you want babies arms tucked away or open for free movement. The material is made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Now I personally don’t like spandex, but seeing that you cannot really see or feel it within the materials makes it easier to breathe about. The Leggies convertible or non-convertible come in sizes 5-13lbs and 14-19lbs or ages N-3M and 3-6M. Many other great features are that the legs have integrated cuffs to enclose your little ones feet to keep them warm.
Using the Leggies convertible/non-convertible Woombie is super easy and fast, as there are 2 zippers, one located near the left foot, and one right at the neck (with a piece of fabric covering the zipper to avoid getting skin caught.) The material is also breathable which prevents baby from getting overheated. One other super huge plus I noticed is that the Woombie Leggies can be used on the go or in the strollers. Now we all know that we must never strap baby in their car seat with bulky clothing or anything that can prevent them from being strapped in, so being that the Leggies is convertible you can safely put a baby in their car seat without sacrificing warmth and comfort! When using the Leggies, the arms must be open for proper usage!
Overall, I personally think this is such an amazing product that I wish I knew about when my son was born, and knowing that this product is safe to use on the go is a added bonus for me! Woombie will be a brand I will be using from here on out and can’t wait to gift some to family and friends!
