I was privileged enough to review several products from the Roaring Spring Paper Product Company.  More specifically, from the Sugarcane Notebook line:  the Cross Over Notebook in the colors of blue, black and red; the Genesis Premium 3 Subject Notebook; the Genesis Premium 5 Subject Notebook; and my favorite, the Genesis Shades Premium 1 Subject Notebook, as well as several notebooks from the Color Me line.

The Cross Over notebook is made of a 20# premium recycled paper.  This notebook is wire bound and contains 80 sheets of white paper.  The notebook paper is perforated so when you remove a sheet, you are left with a smooth even edge.  Nothing is more aggravating to me than to receive a letter on notebook paper which has the remnants of paper on the edge which tends to catch on everything.  The notebook measures 8.5 x 11.5 inches and is college ruled.  It is named Cross Over appropriately, as a backlight creates a grid pattern on the reverse side of the paper, thus making a graph book.  How I wish I had discovered this notebook before I had to purchase special graphing paper for my Algebra classes in college.  Use this multi-functional notebook in a landscape, portrait, or graph manner.  Both the front and back covers to the notebook are a very pleasing color to the eye and is offered in a variety of assorted colors.  The covers to the notebooks are made with a cardboard that is pliable enough to bend somewhat, but sturdy enough to lend support without the aid of a table or hard surface at hand.

The Premium 5 Subject Notebook, as with all of the Genesis papers, has the perforated edge.  This notebook, however, contains 200 sheets of white paper in total, which is sectioned off to reveal 5 separate subjects areas.  The notebook is made from the Sugarcane fiber.  It sports a durable vinyl cover and heavy duty backing.  It also contains 1 double pocket, along with a class schedule and an assignment page.  This notebook is a perfect fit for keeping all those class notes or assignments together without having to carry 5 separate folders in your backpack.

The Genesis Premium 3 Subject Notebook is a scaled down version of the 5 Subject Notebook and sports the same features with the perforated edge, durable vinyl cover and heavy duty backing, a double pocket, class schedule and assignment page; however, the notebook is divided in 3 equal sections.  Each section contains 50 sheets of premium Sugarcane paper.  This notebook is perfect for the smaller number of jobs, tasks, or classes you undertake.

The Genesis Shades notebooks are my favorite.  Why?  Because the paper is the color of the poly covered notebooks:  Blue, Green, Purple or Pink.  This notebook contains 80 sheets of the colored paper and has all the quality features as the other Genesis notebooks with the perforated edge, durable vinyl cover and heavy duty back, as well as one double pocket at the very front of the notebook for easy access.  This paper is perfect to keep on hand for writing all those important messages.  Have you ever tried to locate something from a stack of all white papers?  It is very time consuming.  Well, you don’t have to worry about locating that information, if you jot it down on a piece of the Genesis Shades notebook paper.  You will be able to locate that information by merely glancing at that stack of paper.  This premium paper is designed for 1 subject.  The paper in this notebook is just a wee bit larger than the others at 11 inches x 9 inches, and again, it is college ruled.

Last, but certainly not least is the Color Me Products.  I love these notebooks as well.  These Color Me Notebooks come in four different themes: Aquarium, Farm, Sports and Fun Park.  Allow your youngster to personalize his/her notebook with coloring the cover.  These notebooks are spiral bound and contain 70 sheets of white paper.  The paper in this notebook is not perforated and does not contain any pockets or dividers; however, the notebook is 3 hole punched like the other Genesis notebooks.  Keeping this line eco-friendly, the Color Me Products are made from recycled paper.
