From the moment they wake up, my boys are on the go. When the weather is nice, you will find them outside riding bikes and scooters or playing ball. My youngest is at the age where she wants to do whatever they are doing. She has a little bike she rides, but she loses interest in it as soon as the boys break out their scooters. We have been thinking about buying her one, but with so many on the market, we were unsure of which one would be safe and easy for her to ride. Recently, Yvolution gave me the opportunity to review their scooters and I am so glad they did.
The YGlider Deluxe is three-wheeled scooter designed to give younger kids a secure riding experience.
The YGlider Deluxe is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. This means you can let your little one practice indoors so they get a good feel for the scooter. I did exactly that and she was able to ride (with some assistance) around the house and learn the basics. At first, she had a little trouble with the lean to steer concept, but she is starting to maneuver it better.
Since the deck is larger than standard scooters, she is able to keep her balance. This makes her feel more secure while riding it and gives me a little peace of mind. She has not used the brake yet and she puts one foot on the ground to slow down, but eventually she will get the hang of it. This scooter is the perfect size for her and now, she feels like one of the big kids. The scooter is lightweight and the handlebar detaches making it easy to take along to the park, camping, or even a friend’s house.
The three-wheeled YGlider XL Deluxe also features the “learn, grow, pro” or “lean to steer” technology. It has ergonomic, adjustable handlebars with soft rubber hand grips and durable PU cast wheels. A high-quality deck ensures stable footing while the rear safety brake allows for quick stopping. The scooter has a unique arc-folding design making it simple to store and transport. Recommended for ages 5-8, it has a weight capacity of 110 lbs and a max weight of 43.30-inches. It comes in several color choices.
This scooter comes in one piece so you don’t have to worry about assembly. We had it unboxed and ready to ride in minutes. My youngest son has ridden a scooter many times, but he is not as comfortable on one as he would like to be. The XL Deluxe is perfect for improving his balance and gaining more confidence while riding. He gets the scooter up to decent speeds and when he gets to going too fast, he uses the brake to make sudden stops. He definitely feels more at ease on this one and it did not take him long at all to get the steering down. The scooter is lightweight and the handlebars fold down so we can take it with us on the go.
The little girl next door saw the new scooter and wanted to check it out. She asked to ride it and of course we said yes. At age 6, she is between my son and daughter’s age and watching her ride gave me a good feel for how my little one would do when she graduates up to this scooter.
Both of the scooters from Yvolution are ideal for enacouraging kids to stay active. Since they are designed for new riders, they give kids a sense of security as they learn to ride. They also help little ones develop balance, coordination, and motor skills, all while having fun. The best part? They grow with your child making it a great value that will see lots of use. Yvolution YGliders are available now at Toys’R’US and Kohl’s.
