There are so many great life hacks for busy moms. With four children, a husband, dogs, cats, rabbits, and everyone else who needs this or wants help with that, I’m a busy mom who’s had to learn to maximize her time and is still always looking for life hacks to save me time and make things easier. I’m excited to share a few of my favorite life hacks with you in this post sponsored by Mondelez.
Life hacks, what would we do without them? As a busy mom, it’s easy to feel overworked, have limited energy, and time. Which is where life hacks come in, they can save you time, money, and, at times, even keep the stress away.
18 Life Hacks For Busy Moms
I’m always open to hearing ways that other moms save time, money, and make things easier in their day to day lives. Which is why I’m sharing a few of my favorite life hacks for busy moms.
1) Crockpot Meals – Crockpot meals are an excellent way to save time cooking. Create something that your family likes, and if you plan things out, you can even create a few frozen meals to save you time in the days or weeks to come.
2) Trade Off Cooking Dinner with Friends/Family – My sister-n-law and I take turns and cook dinner for one another’s family once a week. It’s an excellent way to stay close with family and give one another a night away from cooking. Every Tuesday I cook dinner for my brother’s family and every Saturday his wife will cook for our family.
3) Think Food The Night Before – While you’re preparing dinner take a few minutes and make the kids lunches and plan out breakfast to save you time in the mornings.
4) Do Laundry Daily – If I’ve learned anything it’s to do laundry daily. It’s easier and less stressful to do a load a day than to spend my entire Sunday doing laundry.
5) Take Time Off – Even mom and dad need a little time off to catch their breath. It’s okay to allow yourself time off to think and regroup without feeling guilty.
6) Make Lists – I’m all about lists, even on days when I only have a few things going on I create a list because it feels good marking things off and I don’t forget to do things! I forget everything if I don’t have my list.
7) Reading In The Car – If the kids get a tummy ache from reading in the car have them tilt their heads side to side, and it should go away.
8) Skipping DVD – If your kids favorite movie is skipping try rubbing lotion on it to fill the cracks and play that bad boy again.
9) Cups & Magnets – My mom is a smart woman. When I was little I thought it was weird that we would leave our cups stuck to the fridge. Now that I have children I totally get that it was an awesome and even fun way to make sure we could find our cups all day. Get a magnet and superglue or hot glue it on a plastic cup so the kids can leave their cups for the day on the fridge for the day. It’s so much better than having 104 dirty cups daily because the kids can’t find theirs.
10) Skip The Ads On Movies – Do your children complain about the ads on movies? Did you know you can press stop-stop-play-skip and go directly to the movie?
11) Kids Can Help Out Around The House – Give your children chores. Even when they’re young, they can do small things to help out. It’s a great way to teach them responsibility.
12) Get Clothes Ready The Night Before – Grab the kids clothes for the following day the night before and if you work or have something going be sure to grab yours too.
13) Use Digital Calendars & Grocery Store Lists – If you’re not already using digital calendars and lists give them a try. It’s nice because you and your partner can add to the same grocery store lists so whoever stops at the store knows exactly what to get. Same for the digital calendar, which can be used for work, as well as your personal life.
14) Ice Cubes on Carpet – Did you know ice cubes could take indentions out of your carpet? True story, try it.
15) Stripped Screws – Oh man, another stripped screw? My husband taught me to put a rubber band on the tip of the screwdriver. It will help you unscrew your stripped screws.
16) Color Coat Your Keys – Use nail polish, so you’re able to differentiate your keys.
17) Invest in Vinegar – Vinegar is great for tons of things – making glassware sparkle again, dissolving chewing gum, callus remover, cleaning windows, absorbing odors, removing wallpaper, remove lime deposits and more.
18) Easy, Wholesome Snacks – I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to cook anything when the kids get home from school. I’m already thinking about dinner so a wholesome snack like Honey Maid Go Bites is good.
Like all kids, my kids are always on the move, even after a long day of school, they have homework, dance class, sports practice and whatever else we have going on. Which means this mom needs a wholesome snack to fuel my kids, and myself at times. Hey, moms get burned out too. However finding a wholesome snack that both taste great and have great things like protein and whole grains to offer is not always easy. Well, until now thanks to Honey Maid Go Bites.
Honey Maid Go Bites have 5 grams of protein and 7 grams of whole grains to give kids, and busy moms enough energy to stay in the game. They come in both vanilla and chocolate flavor making it a great after school snack for the children. Another perk this mom likes about Honey Maid Go Bites is that they are a mess-free snack that both my kids and I can grab on the go. Honey Maid Go Bites make on-the-go snacking easy and without the mess!
Honey Maid Go Bites are a yummy graham cracker pocket filled with either chocolate or vanilla, along with whole grains, protein, and, of course, real honey. Oh, and not to worry because you won’t find any high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors either. Honey Maid Go Bites are a new favorite in our home – a wholesome snack that both my kids and I can not only agree on, but also enjoy together.
I love Honey Maid’s new video on YouTube. I think they said it perfectly – “No matter how things change the things that make us wholesome never will.”
