Are You 1 in 100 Million too?

by Jenn Brockman

Are You 1 in 100 Million too?Have you ever stopped to think about what would happen if there were not people to do certain jobs?  I’m not talking about lawyers; I’m talking about jobs that have a tremendous impact on our way of living but all too often go unnoticed.  The people doing these jobs that make our way of life possible don’t get a “good job” or even a “thank you” as much as they should.

Seriously, just think about it for a second.  What would the world be like without truck drivers, restaurant servers, trash men, zookeepers, baseball makers, teachers, electrician, trauma nurse, or a firefighter? Without their jobs, our lives would be a lot different.  We depends on people in certain jobs more than we often realize.  I know I didn’t realize just how important these jobs were until this campaign.   I think it’s awesome that Kronos has taken the time to support these wonderful men and women, and I am proud to be part of the 1 in one hundred million campaign again.

What is the 1 in 100 Million Campaign?

“1 in one hundred million is a website that is donated to people who do important jobs that go unrecognized more than they should share personal stories.  Kronos has always put their focus on the world that people do, and it’s why they are super proud of not only this website but the exceptional individuals who go out and work every single day.

1 in one hundred millionIf you have not been to the “1 in one hundred million” website, take a moment and check it out some of the videos and show your support!  They are grat videos!  They have helped me to pay better attention to these extraordinary individuals and the big jobs they are doing.  I catch myself going out of my way to tell people to thank you for things I used not to notice.

meet jenniferEveryone Meet Jennifer Miller a Retail Sales Associate from MJ Christensen Diamonds

Their newest video is about Jennifer Miller, who is a Retail Sales Associate for MJ Christensen Diamonds. Jennifer is a world traveler, humanitarian and jewelry sales specialist from Chicago.  She loves jewelry and how it brings people together and how it’s based on relationships.

Jennifer sells jewelry that is priced as low as $39 to as high as $750,000!  I don’t even know what to talk bout anymore; I’m stuck imagining a ring worth $750,000.  What would one do with a ring like worth that much, it would have to be huge?  Gosh, would I even be able to lift my hand up lol.  Not really, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around a piece of jewelry worth that much.

Jennifer has sold amazing diamonds and jewelry to couples for all sorts of different reasons, and she has some great stories about helping nervous customers pick out the perfect gift for their special someone.  The one she remembers the most is about an older couple in their 70s.  The women wanted to get her ears pierced, she has finally overcome the fear and wanted it done, and her husband purchased her a pair of diamond earrings just for the occasion and Jennifer got them champagne to celebrate.  She says she feels like being a part of someone’s special moment is what her job is all about.

Now, don’t think the jewelry store is all Jennifer does because last year she worked as a volunteer in Uganda in the BeadforLife program, with a mission to create sustainable opportunities for women to lift their families out of extreme poverty.  Being part of the program allowed her to take her jewelry skills and apply them somewhere they were needed.

There’s more to her story, but I want you to watch it.  There are quite a few of GREAT videos at 1in100Million.com.

This is great and am so glad to hear it. Seems too many people will bash other people’s job. I have always felt like each job is important and if you’re happy that is what really matters
