The movies are an awesome experience, but sometimes they can be a hit or miss. I haven’t always been a fan of Marvel comics, but with the special effects and great action, I have grown to love them! Ant-Man is one of the greatest founding fathers of The Avengers and he is definitely packing some heat! I went and saw Ant-Man with my boyfriend this weekend and it is true what they say: Great things come in tiny packages and Ant-Man is one of them!
Growing up, my brother and his buddies were always nose deep in their Marvel comic books and I just wondered what all he hubbub was about. I mean, how exciting could little cartoons really be? Unless you are coloring them, which we can do now! Here are some activity sheets and coloring pages from the movie. Now how fun it that?? Don’t get me wrong, I have one of the best imaginations, especially as a kid. But, I just couldn’t get into the plots of mutants, super heroes, or evil demons saving the world. So, I left it alone and grew up and well, the movies and their special effects grew up too! Ant-Man is one movie that is definitely benefiting from the new digital enhancements that are available.
I know, it sounds a little funny; a guy running around the size of an ant, fighting villains and saving the day. It sounds silly until you learn the story and how incredibly intricate and thought out the plot is. Also, it’s exciting to think that some things Ant-Man is capable of are possible as science advances! Okay, enough of my geeking out about science. Back to he subject at hand: Ant-Man is one movie you have got to check out this summer!
There are great scenes when Paul Rudd, our hero who plays Ant-Man, is whooping some tush of grown men, while he is only the size of a tiny insect. And, I have to admit that the bond he creates with his fellow ants is pretty heart touching, and being the emotional basket case I am at times, I admit that I did shed a tear from joy, happiness, and a bit of heartbreak!
Me and my boyfriend had a great time watching Ant-Man. It really had something for everyone from the kiddos to the emotional girlfriend (ahem, guilty!) So, gather your colony of ants, i.e. your family and friends, head to your nearest theater and check out Ant-Man in 3D! It is definitely true what they say, great things do come in tiny packages.
