Searching for gift ideas is hard enough for family, much less friends or the host at a party you’re attending.  Last year my husband and I went to a party hosted by one of his friends from work, naturally I wanted to get his wife something for welcoming us into their home for the evening, but WOW finding a gift for someone you’re not close with can be difficult.  Whether you’re searching for gift ideas for a close friend who seems to have everything or that hostess you’ve only chatted with a time or two in passing we have a few hostess gift ideas that will work for even the hostess with the mostess.

Holiday Hostess Gift Guide

Here are a few holiday hostess gift ideas to help you get your holiday shopping started without breaking the bank.

1.) The gift of wine – BAM, you seriously can’t go wrong with great tasting wine like If you’re not sure about the hostess’s wine preference, at only $11 a bottle you’ll likely be able to a bottle of berry blush and crisp sparkling wine!

2.) Something festive and edible – Don’t do what everyone does, STAY AWAY from the traditional box of chocolates.  In my opinion it says, I didn’t know what to get you so I just grabbed this from the grocery store, lol.  I know, it’s horrible but it’s true.  Rather than spending your money on an over gifted box of chocolates try something like this The Original Peppermint Bark for only $29.00. It’s festive and shows you put thought into your gift.  Plus, this peppermint bark contains premium ingredients, infused with natural peppermint oils, and it’s handmade.

3.) Think thoughtful and giving – The Giving Plate is fun for everyone who ends up with it.  You can present it to your hostess or friend loaded with goodies for them to later pass on to someone else.  It sure would be interesting to see all the places The Giving Plate ends up, and you never know it might even end up back in your hands for you to pass on.  I love the idea of The Giving Plate I want to give one to my sister-n-law, she would love it.  You can grab The Giving Plate for only $13, it’s affordable too.

4.) The perfect addition to their serving collection for your favorite hostess – Thinking back to many of the parties I’ve been too, a cheese board and server is often an item that is missing yet they’re beautiful with just about anything you set on them, especially this black stoneware server. The Soho Cheese Board and Server is a fabulous addition to any hostess collection and it’s only $15.00.

5.) Who doesn’t appreciate  a new set of attractive dish towels – Everyone can appreciate attractive dish towels.  Not only do they help in the kitchen, they decorate it while they’re not being used.  Dish towels are a great way to add a splash of color to any kitchen and they’re totally affordable.  Check out these Home Sweet Hideaway Dish Towel Set for only $18.00.

6.) Make kitchen tools a great gift by choosing the right ones – Another great way to add a little color to any kitchen is with kitchen tools, like these Handpainted Atoll Measuring Spoons for only $16.00.  They sure would look great hanging in just about any kitchen, adding that little splash of color that most kitchens need.  Plus, as someone who loves to cook and bake, beautiful kitchen tools make cooking and baking more fun and special.

7.) Appetizer Plates – I don’t know any hostess who wouldn’t love festive appetizer plates like the porcelain Nutcracker Appetizer Plates which you can grab for only $20.

8.) Coasters – Let’s be honest, most people don’t think stylish when it comes to the coasters that are protecting their precious tablets.  Step it up and go with some beautiful stylish coasters as a gift idea which makes them an AWESOME hostess gift idea. You gift this beautiful set of Gold Tiled Coasters for only $20.00 which I’m sure any hostess will appreciate your effort to help them stay stylish while protecting their coffee table.

9.) Playing Cards – Speaking from experience, every hostess needs a nice set of playing cards.  Over the summer I was hosting an event at our home and suddenly everyone decided they wanted to play cards but guess who didn’t have any.  Okay, well I did have a deck, but I let the kids play with them and naturally all the cards were not returned.  A nice set of playing cards, like these Floral Playing cards are a great gift idea for any host and they’re only $14.00.

10.) Candles because you can’t go wrong with a great smelling candle in an attractive container – Intoxicating scents and recycled wine bottles make for a beautiful scented gift any hostess is sure to love.  I don’t know about you but when I host events I almost always have a candle burning so my home has a present aroma and I would LOVE to receive one of these Wine Bottle-Filled Candles which are only $15.00.

I hope you found a few fabulously fun hostess gift ideas.  Many of these would be a great gift for just about anyone, even that one friend who seems to have everything.

I am always a wine or festive treat giver!! We really love a relaxing drink and indulging in goodies in this family!! I tend to gravitate towards indulgences 🙂 Because people most likely wont purchase or make them themselves!!
