Oh, I just love Eeyore.  He is without a doubt my favorite character from the Pooh gang.  There is just something about him that I just love. Honestly, I think it’s because Eeyore is real, and I just want to give him a hug and cheer him up.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, butter, and vanilla extract.

Making the Ears

  • Using the grey fondant, pinch off about 2–1/2 tsp of fondant and roll into a ball. Roll the ball in between your hands to form a long, rounded piece.  Next, using your fingers, lightly flatten the fondant log into a long, flat piece of fondant. Set aside for later

  • Flatten the logs into long flat pieces
  • Lightly wet fingers and brush them along the middle of your grey disks to leave a trail of water.  The water will act as glue when you are working with fondant.  Carefully lay the pink flat piece onto the grey flat piece of fondant.  Repeat steps for 29 more ears. You will need a total of 30 ears.  Allow to sit harden while you make the glaze.

Vanilla Glaze Directions:

  • In a large bowl combine the powdered sugar, vanilla, salt and milk and mix until combined.  If the glaze has powdered sugar clumps still, mix in another tbsp of milk.
  • Mix in 1-2 drops of black coloring and mix until combined. You are wanting to get a light grey shade.

Decorating Directions:

  • Make sure that your wire rack is on top of a larger cookie sheet so that when you pour the grey glaze onto the donuts, the glaze will not drip onto the counter.
  • Allow the donuts to dry for 10 minutes, then carefully lift one of the ears up.
  • Lightly get your finger wet and brush it on the edge of the top of the ear, and carefully place the top of the ear on the side of the donut. Repeat the steps with the other ear. Set them aside while you mold your fondant bows.
  • Using a small pointy paint brush, dip it into the powdered sugar and brush the powdered sugar into the fondant mold.  Pinch off a piece of red fondant and push it into the mold.  Allow the fondant to sit there for a few minutes before pushing the bow out of the mold.  Repeat the steps for 14 more bows.
  • Lightly brush water onto the back of the bow and place the bow in the bottom middle of the donut.
  • Using the ivory-colored fondant, repeat the steps that you did for the ears, and carefully shape the ivory into a bean shape for the base of the mouth. Lightly wet the back of the ivory fondant piece and place it on top of the middle of the donut.
  • Using the black icing, pipe a line down the center of the donut. Pipe hair onto the top part of the donut, pipe stitches down the center of the donut, pipe a dot on both sides of the donut for the eyes, a line above the eyes for his eyebrows, and a dot on the ivory fondant for the nose.
  • Allow it to dry for an hour before enjoying!
