Beauty is from within and is in the eye of the beholder. We have all heard these sayings. What are they supposed to mean? Victoria Jackson Cosmetics sticks by these adages and believe we all need to”let our natural beauty shine through.” I take a lot from these sayings. I firmly believe that how we feel on the inside is in direct correlation to how we look on the outside.
Different outfits, hairdos or shoes are changed to fit the weather, environment, events, as well as our moods. Different techniques, shades, and styles help to enhance the beauty we already have. Here are 4 tips I use to add mystery to my eyes, glow to my cheeks and seduction to my lips.
- Plump Up Your Lips
When someone is speaking, most people look at a person’s mouth while they talk. Since this is the case we would want our teeth to be clean and our lips to look pleasant. Plump and defined lips are desirable and there are a number of tips out there to achieve them. I have small lips and have tried so many different ways to add plumpness and color to my lips.
My niece is beautiful and she wanted to play around and add some color to lips. She was wearing an adorable pink floral dress so we add some pretty pink and purple shades. She is beautiful and adding some color to her lips make her eyes really sparkle with that childish wonderment!
After numerous trials and errors, I have found one way that has proven effective to make my lips look plump. I apply a bit of shimmering powder, like gold and silver and light color liner to the bows of my lips. The bows of the lips are the curves in the middle edge of both the upper and lower lips. The Victoria Jackson Cosmetics has the convenient case that keeps all the shimmer powder and lip color together so it makes it easy to get the perfect look for my lips. Putting gold or silver powder and liner on those bows allows light to reflect and makes lips look fuller. 
Along with this tip, I exfoliate my lips. Using equal parts of coffee grounds and coconut oil, I rub in a circular motion on my lips and then remove with a cloth or soft tissue. The grounds naturally plump the lips and the oil keeps lips soft and supple.2.) Add Some Glow to Your Cheeks Having a bright and glowing look isn’t just for new lovers and pregnant women. It is easy to add bright and defined cheekbones with the right tones and application. Adding shadow and definition on the cheek bones can help a full face look slimmer. The blush colors that the Victoria Jackson Cosmetics had were perfect for my skin tone. There are a lot of tips to sift through to add the definition we look for. There is on that I have found to be most helpful. Contouring the cheekbones is the best way to get the slimming look on a fuller face.
I apply blush and bronzer to the contours of my face to define my facial frame. Just lightly brush some blush along the lines of your cheekbones and jaw. One thing to be sure of is finding the correct shade for your skin tone, don’t go too dark or bold with blushes or bronzers. They can cause your makeup to look clownish and overdone
3.)Intensify Your Eyes
Eyes are the window to the soul, right? Well, let the world see just how beautiful your soul is. I love dramatic eyes and a smoky look with bold lines. I use glimmer shadows to reflect light and make my eyes pop. I have green eyes and shimmering browns and maroon colors make my eyes really stand out and sparkle. Also, choosing the right liner for your eye shape, desired look and ability is crucial. I use bold liner for my upper eyelid and soft pencil for under my eye.
A liquid liner with a brush applicator works best for a bold defined line. With the brush, I can make my lines thin and exact or bold and wide. A soft pencil liner is best for under the eye because it is easy to blend and helps make a smoky effect and the Victoria Jackson was easy to apply and went on smoothly. One last trick for my eyes that helps to make them pop is baby powder. That’s right, baby powder! Apply a thin layer of powder to your lashes after your first application of mascara and follow with a finishing coat. It helps to make the lashes look thicker and longer without having to apply those difficult fake lashes.
4.)Smooth Out Your Canvas
Everyone has imperfections that they like to minimize and using a good foundation and powder is an easy way to smooth out your complexion. Finding the right foundation can sometimes be difficult but there is a secret. Try the color you think is closest to your complexion by dabbing some on your jaw line. If it disappears without blending then you have found the perfect tone. The Victoria Jackson foundation had the perfect tones and great concealer for my skin and when I applied the makeup it look soft and light.
After finding the right foundation color, I use my fingertips to blend and even out my T-zone (the bridge of the nose across the forehead.) Once I have blended my foundation I use a shimmering powder to add some more glow to my face. Using a W shape, brush the powder lightly side to side. The shimmering powder, like the other glimmer products I mentioned, reflect like and allow the skin to look brighter.
Our beauty is there every day and the way we show that is up to us. My niece loves to play dress up and have makeover parties. These are great activities for us to bond and it gives her a chance be a “grown up.” It is fun to play dress up from time to time, but I make it a point to tell her every chance that I get that she is beautiful inside and out.
