The ABC’s of Making Back-to-School Shopping Fun

We all want our kids to look good as they head back-to-school.  You remember how important it was to look cool for back-to-school.  Can you believe school starts back in only two weeks where we live?  Yes, the 11th the kids will head back to school and this will be Mattie’s very first day of kindergarten, Vayda will be heading to 3rd grade, Bud 5th grade, and my oldest will be a junior.

Last year I put things off until the last minute and promised myself I would never do that again.  Not only did I feel like I wasn’t able to take advantage of the savings, my kids were not as prepared as they should have been.  There’s something about starting a little early that helps everyone get back in the swing of things a little easier in my house.  Thankfully, shopping with Target on my side I can not only start early, but feel confident my kids will look their best as they head into the 2015-2016 school year.

Allow your kids to express themselves

Target makes it easy to let kids express themselves with everything from their fun character back-to-school supplies, shoes, clothing and accessories.

Be sure to have a plan

Have a plan for back-to-school shopping and make a list.  To make things a little easier on me this year, I decided to break shopping up into two trips.  Our first trip to Target I took the kids with me and allowed them to choose most of their back-to-school items and the second trip will be a mom only trip.  This is where I will pick up anything that was left out, because let’s face it, back-to-school shopping is fun with kids, but we don’t always get everything we need because we are having fun.

Thankfully, Target is nice and organized and has everything kids and parents want to make back to school easy.

Target makes it easy for parents and kids to care about style without breaking the bank.  Kids can express themselves in age-appropriate and parent-approved fashion, like the super cute Ninja Turtle t-shirt Mattie is planning to wear the first day of school.
shopping for schoolMy youngest daughter is tall and skinny, which makes it hard to find jeans that she likes that fit well.  So Target stepped things up a bit and reinvented all their jeans to be more comfortable and stretchy for kids.  Not only do they fit better, but they are in styles that kids love.

Don’t let the stress get to you

I tend to REALLY start missing my kids when they are gone all day.  I do my best to remember, even during the most stressful times, they will be back in school soon and I’ll be missing them.

Everything Kids and Moms Want

It’s nice to know you can get everything kids and moms want in one convenient place – reinvented girls jeans, fun character tops, back-to-school supplies, reinvented boys jeans, shoes, school uniforms, and more.  Target makes it easy for kids to get what they want, and moms need!
