I don’t know about you, but some days I just can’t get myself up and motivated and finding natural energy isn’t always easy. Those days I just want to curl up in bed and watch movies and sleep, but with four children the chances of that happening are slim to none, lol. I love the summer but once the 100-degree weather starts setting in these days seem like they come around more and more.
5 Ways To Get a Little Extra Natural Energy This Summer
Over the years, I’ve tried different things to help increase my energy on these hot days and here are a few things that work for me.
- Drink plenty of cold water – Water does so many wonderful things for the body, and there’s nothing quite like a nice glass of ice water to keep you cool during the hot summer months. Keeping cool with ice water helps me feel better and increase energy so I can beat the day.
- Breakfast matters – Eat something like and healthy for breakfast. I tend to go with oatmeal and if I get my day started a little late I might turn to a smoothie.
- Healthy snacks matter – One of the worst things I can do is eat too much or not eat at all. I try to keep something light, healthy and convenient around, like these Easy No Bake Oatmeal Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls.
- Natural Energy Drink – I’m in love with these new V8 V-Fusion + Energy, they’re amazing. They’re totally affordable, less than $4 for 6 cans, and give me a nice, much-needed energy boost in the afternoon.
- Smoothies – I love smoothies they are great any time of the day, but I typically enjoy them as a mid-morning snack, especially during the summer months. Southern New Mexico is HOT, and I haven’t found anything more refreshing than a cold fruit smoothie. Well, until recently that is. I recently made a V8 V-Fusion + Peach Mango Energy Smoothie with Chia Seed, which was amazing.
