REASONS TO MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS HYDRATED

According to a recent study, a little over half of children and adolescents are not getting enough hydration. In 2015 a study that was conducted by Nestle® Pure Life®, children and moms revealed several surprising insides about hydration habits. I think you’ll be surprised and learning more about the results of the study might even make you rethink your family’s hydration.

  • Moms are struggling – As you may know, drinking water is essential, yet it’s one of the biggest “healthy habits” that moms are struggling with, as a matter of fact 38% of moms struggle with getting their kids to drink water. Compared to only 29% struggle with things like “eat your fruit”, 23% with getting enough exercise, 19% with eating breakfast, and 19% with drinking milk.
  • Moms agree – Did you know that almost two in five mothers agree that letting their child drink bottled water rather than pouring it in a cup helps their children drink more water? I would have to agree. I don’t know what it is, but the bottle does make a difference when you are a child.
  • Kids drinking water – Children who drink 4 or more glasses of water each day are more likely to frequently exhibit healthy habits like eating fruits and veggies with meals without being reminded and getting their water when they need something to drink.

Children might drink plenty of fruit drinks and milk, but they need water. It’s an essential part of your child’s health.

We have always focused on water. Water bottles and his own special cups help a lot. and I limit juice so he loves his water.
