I love Build-A-Bear Workshop! It’s a place my family and I have not only visited, but we visit it online too. I have the whole My Little Pony collection, and the girls have several different characters. However, if I were to ask Mattie what the coolest thing she got from Build-A-Bear Workshop was, she would say, “The Honey Girls Build-A-Bear Bunny!”  I know she is just as excited that I’m part of this Build-A-Bear campaign as I am, maybe even more.

It’s truly amazing the bond a child can form with any one of their stuffed animals, but for us, it’s the ones that come from Build-A-Bear. They have a character for everyone, and the new Build-A-Bear Honey Girls are the BOMG, I’m telling you. Mattie has only met one of them so far and has already made me visit the website to check out her friends. Needless to say, it’s going to be an awesome surprise, and here’s why.

You see, music brought this group together, and it’s friendship that keeps them rocking out together.  The group consists of three best friends who met at school and formed a band that consists of Teegan, Viv, and Risa.  Like most groups of friends, they each bring a unique strength not only to the band but also to their group of friends.

Viv’s an awesome friend and an extremely talented inventor.  See as the drummer, Viv, helps to keep the beat that makes you want to dance.  She loves to build things, and she’s a creative part of the group.  Her song, “Just a Bit O’ Rhythm, is about being creative and dreaming, and her favorite saying is “Dream Big.”  A few fun facts about Viv are that she made her robot, loves to bake, and is a fabulous gymnast.

Honey Girls _ TeeganMeet the Honey Girls Lead Singer, Teegan

Every group needs a lead singer, and Teegan is the lead singer of the Honey Girls.  She’s tried to play several different instruments but learned she was best at singing and writing music.  You’ll love her song, “Gotta Go Big,” because it’s exactly how she lives—loud, big, and strong.  Her favorite saying is “be the best you can be.”  A few fun facts about Teegan are that she’s the new kid in school, loves to chat, and created her comic book.  Cool right?!?!?!

Honey Girls_RisaMeet the Honey girls Guitar Player, Risa

Is it fair to say she is my favorite because we already have her, lol?  Probably not, because they are all away, and yes, I will without a doubt get my girls the whole group.  Risa not only plays the guitar; she writes all the music.  She’s a shaker and a mover, and her favorite song is “Places to Go,” and it’s all about following your dreams.  Risa’s motto is “Believe in yourself,” but she also loves music; concerts are her favorites, and she’s always humming.

Honey Girls Studio App

These girls even have an awesome app that kids will have access to with music videos, biographies, selfie activities, and even a music video maker, and they can even unlock some rockin’ features.  The app will be available for download in July, when the Honey Girls are available.

The Honey Girls are so much more than just another stuffed animal. The Honey Bear line has been designed to encourage children to overcome any obstacles and find their passions by helping give them a sense of self-expression and confidence. Each of these amazing friends has their own strengths and talents that help friends “be brighter together.”

mattie with stuffed animal from build a bearKids can customize their favorite or all of the Honey Girls characters with a totally awesome plush star, which represents a positive and aspirational trait that makes the Honey Girls empowerment theme. The stars can each be different colors to reflect traits like creativity, confidence, smarts, strength, and fearlessness. These stars allow kids to take the personalization of the Honey Girls a step further by making the connection with their new friend extra special. Guest can purchase as many additional stars as they like, but each Honey Girls character has a plush start to stuff inside during Build-A-Bear’s signature heart ceremony.

When it comes to raising girls, I don’t know if there is a way to offer them enough empowering stories. The story of the Honey Girls can teach girls to embrace their talents because it takes all sorts of different talents to make a rocking group. Together, they have a debut song called “Everything is Better,” which can even be previewed on the Build-A-Bear website.

Don’t forget, July, you will be able to purchase the Honey Girls!  Well, if you’re purchasing online, you can order on July 8th and in your local Build-A-Bear store on July 10th, but you can check out the Honey Girls on the Build-A-Bear website here.  Of course, you’ll want to be social and stay up-to-date with all the exciting Build-A-Bear news by liking them on Facebook, following via Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and subscribing to the Build-A-Bear YouTube Channel.  You can also join in on the exciting Honey Girls conversation by tagging @BuildABear on their social media channels.
