Society is a tricky thing nowadays. It demands that we look and act a certain way to be accepted. The younger generation has it most difficult. They are already trying to find themselves and dealing with natural growing pains. Now they are being bombarded with media telling them what beautiful is supposed to be. We have to find beauty in ourselves and hold on to it. These are 8 ways to boost your confidence every day. They are easy and fun things that really add the “Oomph” to your day!
Personally, it’s taken me 30 years to find a confident person within myself. Now that I have met that person, I have tricks that I do every day to help me keep her around.
- Daily Affirmations
We can easily become our worst critic. So, we need to take the power back and turn it to positivity. We can become our biggest fan. I tell myself each morning, and several times throughout the day, something about myself that I love and appreciate. I tell myself, “Good morning, good looking,” and it’s a compliment no one else can pay me.
I tell myself that I’m going to have a great day and “I am amazing.” I always tell myself “Je t’aime” and remind myself to smile. Taking it one day at a time helps boost my confidence and keeps me positive.
- Do Something Nice
This world is full of negativity and it can really bring down morale. When there is so much bad, the smallest gesture of kindness can speak volumes. Holding the door for someone or giving up your seat for someone can make people feel great on both ends.
I get a huge boost of confidence when I feel I might have made someone’s day better. For example, my boyfriend and I were having breakfast at a restaurant. Our server was obviously busy and overwhelmed. While my boyfriend settled the bill, I wrote a short note to her. She stopped me on my way out to say thank you and gave me a hug. Just by telling her, “Thank you for the smiles and laughter, have a great day!” she was thankful and I felt an amazing boost in confidence. It took me just a second to change the whole day for both of us.
- Smile, Smile, Smile
We wake up each morning and begin our day. We shower, do our hair, put on make up, and whatever other morning ritual we may have. I strongly believe the one accessory we should never go without is a smile.
It is impossible to have a bad day if I keep a smile on my face. Some may think me insane, but others feel a little brighter from it. My sister and I were at the store, both of us annoyed with the crowded aisles and unruly kids. One woman made a small joke and sent a smile. We both giggled and felt tons better about the situation. That one woman who mustered a smile in a not so savory moment changed our mood for the rest of the day.
- Jam Your Favorite Tunes
Music has such an inexplicable power over our mood. A song can make us cry, lyrics make us laugh, and a single note can give us chills. Find a song that makes you feel great and makes you dance without realizing it. “Good Day, Sunshine,” by The Beatles is one of those go to songs I love to listen to on a dreary day. No matter how many times I’ve heard it, I can’t help but feel great and sing along every time.
A lot of the time, I will find myself dancing along with the tune in the my head and it is a great feeling!Find your musical muse and take it with you every day!
- Spoil Yourself
The society we live in today puts a lot of emphasis on looks and size and “perfection.” I like to go to the salon to have my hair styled or my nails done. It isn’t to look beautiful to everyone else, it is to feel beautiful and feminine for myself. I love to feel special, beautiful, and feminine on the inside and outside.
Life gets stressful and can bog me down, so even an awesome make over from my niece can make me feel like a new person! I have to stop and remind myself of 3 things; I am able, I am deserving, and I am beautiful. It is a great way to celebrate being a woman and slow down for an hour or two.
- Workout/Meditate
Exercise has a physiological effect on our bodies. When we are active our body releases adrenaline and dopamine, and other feel-good endorphins.
We can get active and fit and feel spectacular about it. Yoga is a great way to relax, reflect, and reenergize. I love to go running early in the morning and let my mind wonder. Before I realize it, I’ve ran a couple miles and a good cardio workout to start my day. I stretch and wind down and feel accomplishment and pride that boost my confidence.
- Find The Perfect Cocktail Dress
It is wonderful being a woman. We are strong, caring, giving, beautiful, amazing, and I could go on forever. Celebrating our inner beauty with an outward expression is a perfect way to boost confidence. I found the perfect dress that does just that for me!

I have curves, just like the average woman, and this dress accentuates those curves and keeps it classy. It is a black and red floral print on a white background. It makes me feel like a million bucks and I can wear it anytime. It is multi-functional as a casual spring dress and a glamorous cocktail dress. I dress it up with some beautiful pumps and dress down with some comfortable sandals. It is definitely THE perfect dress!
- Find the Perfect Beach Dress
Heading to the beach or pool is a big part of the summer. Donning a bikini or swimsuit can make a lot of people uncomfortable. There is no reason to fret that, but if it does make anyone feel more comfortable I love to find the perfect beach dress.
The chiffon floral print beach dress that I received from ACEVOG makes wearing a bathing suit an easier process. It is light, colorful, flowing, and just down right comfortable. I wear it as a house robe after a shower, or in the mornings while I drink coffee and get ready for the day. Starting off in something bright and cheery definitely starts my day on a positive note!
Being positive is a choice and having the ability to stay positive takes some practice. Keeping confidence up and staying positive is sometimes a challenge. I know I have days that it seems like nothing works, but I find a way to feel better. Always remember, we are all uniquely the same and battle the same obstacles.
