Here are a few ways we save money on printer ink.

Settings

Be sure to take a look at your printer’s settings.  You can normally tweak them to make your printer use less ink.  Look for an ink or toner saver option.  You may consider printing using draft mode, unless of course you are printing a photo or something you need to look sharp.

Print only what you need

Don’t waste ink printing extra pages.  More often than not when I print something I only need a section, or certain page.  Be sure to only print what you need so you don’t waste ink or paper on things you’ll just end up tossing or shredding.

Keep your printer clean

Be sure to take care of your printer as requited and keep it clean, especially the ink nozzles.  Clean the nozzles about once a month to help you save ink and keep things running properly.

Consider reducing the size

Printing smaller means using less ink.  If you’re printing something and can reduce the size it can help you save ink.

Take advantages of sales

Be sure to look for sales on ink.  Catching sales can defiantly be the biggest money saver. Finding out which printer has the cheapest ink is a smart approach to long-term savings. Often, printer manufacturers offer discounts, bundle deals, or promotions on their ink products, which can significantly reduce your overall expenses.
