8 Gym Bag Must Have’s

by Jenn Brockman

Have you ever gone to the gym and wished you would have thought about putting something in your gym bag?  I have, more than one.  To be honest, when I first started going to the gym I didn’t even take a bag with me.  I didn’t have to go to work or anything after so I thought I didn’t need one, until one day I started my period at the gym.  I had to stop what I was doing run to the bathroom and haul butt home lol.  I was lucky; things could have been so bad!

Thankfully they were not but the story did make me realize how important carrying a gym bag was so here are a few gym bag must have’s.

Stuff for aunt flows not so planned trips

Do not forget to toss in a few tampons or pads just in case you start your period unplanned.  It happens, trust me and the gym is not a place you want it to happen at.

Water bottle

I fill my water bottle before I leave the house and toss it in my gym bag, but over the years I have learned that it’s always a good idea to keep an empty one in my bag for those times when I run out the door and forget my water bottle.

Dry shampoo

I still carry dry shampoo in my gym bag, but I don’t use it nearly as often as I used to when I was working away from home full-time, but dry shampoo has proven to be a lifesaver multiple times.
Just because it’s better to be safe than sorry. I would rather have an extra set of shorts just in case I end up spilling something or even worse a whole in my shorts.
Don’t forget socks, they are good to have for those times you head off to the gym in your flip flops with plans change shoes when you get to the gym.

Protein or nutrition bar

Make sure you keep yourself fueled by keeping something quick and easy in your bag.  I tend to want something small after I’m finished working so I keep a protein bar in my gym bag.

Chapstick

I don’t know about you, but my lips tend to get dry when I’m working out, so I keep some chapstick in my gym bag.

Towel

Keep yourself a clean towel to wipe sweat away or whatever else you need it for and don’t pay that pesky towel rental fee. They don’t have that at my gym, but I have friends who complain about it. I’m just weird like that, lol.

Deodorant

Yeah, I know you already know why it’s a good idea to keep deodorant in your gym bag.
