I’m a coffee drinker; I like my morning coffee, and I’ll enjoy a nice cold cup of coffee in the afternoon. I know right, how likely is that?
I don’t seem to get used to the kids summer schedule until they are just about to head back to school, lol. It takes a lot of energy to get everything done – work, errands, dinner, cleaning, laundry and everything else we manage to fit into a day. So I figured I would share a few survival tips for mom with you.

Trade kids with another mom you know and trust
An excellent way to get a little fun time with the kids and even a little extra downtime are to swap kids. My sister-n-law and I started doing this a few years ago, and it’s turned out to be an excellent display this year too.
Always have time for a silly face
Never come up with an excuse not to make a silly face with the kids, especially if it’s right before heading into the store. I’ve learned having a little fun, after the car is stopped but before anyone gets out helps put everyone in a fun and silly mood. This not only helps me survive the trip to the grocery store but I can do it with a smile and probably a few silly memories with the kids.

Once I remind myself just how lucky I am to be able to spend this much time with my children everything changes. Suddenly my half empty glass is half full and loading all the kids up in the car isn’t that bad. Plus, shhhh I have some yummy coffee in the fridge for the drive, it even comes in chocolate! You can be young and have fun too
Next time you load everyone up for a trip to the park, remember you are not too old to have fun. Being a parent doesn’t involve giving up all your fun right. Plus, with the kids being home for summer I’m sure spending time with them in top priority.
Think of things your kids can do outside
Let the kids go outside and play, use their imagination, play in the sprinkler, or something so you have a little extra time to yourself to get all your duties done for the day.
