Do you remember the first time someone sent you flowers? I do, I remember the warm and fuzzy feeling I had inside. I’m sure my face was red and I was grinning from ear to ear. Let’s face it, receiving flowers is an awesome feeling, plus you get to show them off to friends or people who come into your work. It’s obvious you are special to someone. The flowers look amazing for the first few days and after a week as gone by, well they look horrible and the water is nasty. More often than not I spill the water and cleaning that up is awful. As I toss the old yucky flowers into the trash I can’t help but think about the environmental footprint and money that I am throwing into the trash. We all know sending someone a nice flower arrangement isn’t cheap.
When I was married my husband used to send me flowers all the time and I eventually asked him to stop because I hated seeing them go into the trash. He didn’t send me flowers again but he did start sending me plants which was great, I love them and still have some of them but one can only have so many plants in their home.
Like so many of you we want to be as eco-friendly as possible so the generations behind us can enjoy this beautiful planet too. So how does one send or receive flowers in an eco-friendly way? Well, until recently I don’t know of any which is why I’m thrilled to be sharing an awesome app called Flowerling which you can download in the Apple App store.
Modernize The Way You Send Flowers with Flowerling
Since we live in a world where technology touches so many aspects of our lives Flowering wanted to spice things up by changing the way we send flowers. Yes, a new digital and modern way to send and receive flowers that still makes people smile and get that warm fuzzy feeling.
Thanks to Flowering you can now, for the first time send someone a Digital Rose! This is an awesome and easy way to send your special someone a virtual flower. Oh, and I do want to let you know that Flowerling also offers an outstanding choice of Vases, Bouquets as well as Potted Flowers. They all age in real-time with the Potted Flower needing water to live.
Getting Started with the Flowerling App
To get started with Flowerling just download the app and create your account. And enjoy the app, I found the Flowerling app is easy, it’s clean, nicely organized and easy to navigate. You’ll notice there are different menue options that help keep things clean and organized inside the app.
- Main Menu – You can send flowers by creating a bouquet from your Greenhouse, buy a bouquet from the shop or send a single rose.
- My profile – You can edit your information and even add a photography and see gifts that you have sent and received.
- Shop – This is where you can see all the different Vases, Bouquets, Potted Flowers and Roses that are available to purchase and send.
- My Greenhouse – Your Greenhouse holds your purchased Vases, Bouquets and Potted Flowrers.
- Garden – This is where you can view the amount of trees that have been planted because of your purchases.
Watch your flower grow
The lifespan of a digital flower sent with Flowerling is 8 days and like real flowers you can watch them age. If you want your flower to last a little longer you can purchase plant food to add a few days to it’s lifespan.
When you use the Flowerling app you are not only helping the environment but you are also going to save some major bucks! Eco-friendly and cost effective, it’s a win-win if you ask me.
Sending digital flowers to anyone
The first thing that came to my mind was whether or not the person receiving the flower would need to have an iOS device to receive the flower. I was excited to learn that you can send a digital flower to anyone, if they do not have an iOS device they can watch their flower grow on the web.
Making a purchase on the Flowerling App
To make a purchase on the Flowerling app you’ll need coins which you can purchase using real money – 5 coins is $0.99, 10 coins $1.99, etc. To purchase a single rose you’ll need 5 counts, bouquets are 6 to 10 coins and vases are 3 to 5 coins which means you can send a nice little arrangement to someone for TONS less than you would sending real flower that we end up tossing anyway.
Giving back to the environment
Plus did you know that for every Flowerling sent, the wonderful folds at Flowerling will plant a tree in Madagascar through their partnership with Eden Reformation Project? I just love that we are not only saving flowers but also planting trees when using Flowerling! It’s a win-win if you ask me!
