Traveling alone can be hectic, adding kids to the mix can make things darn right crazy. It never fails something goes wrong, someone is complaining, and everyone forgot something, there are fifteen bathroom breaks because nobody has to go at the same time or they are like my youngest and just enjoy stopping to check out every bathroom we pass. I swear it’s always something and a three hour car ride can quickly, or not so quickly turn into a five hour drive.
Over the years I have tried several different things to make traveling with kids a little easier and by golly, I found a few things that work and I wanted to share them with you to help you make traveling with kids easier.
4 Tips To Take Traveling With Kids Easier
Packing Tips
Oh this is always a chore if you ask me lol. What’ever you do don’t let the kids pack themselves, talk about a real travel moment when you make it to your hotel and BAM find out that your kids bag is full of toys a pair of pants and one sock. Yes, that will leave you breathless and it’s a mistake that will only happen once, loo. So parents make sure you have everything you need, review yoru list, and roll your clothing instead of folding, it will save some serious space.
Driving Tips
Before heading out make sure that you have your atlas or online map pulled up and you have a good idea which direction you are going. You’ll want to pay attention to weather as well. Planning your route and anticipating weather can help keep your family safe and save you time.
Riding Tips for Kids
Things can get a little crazy in the car, especially when kids are involved, trust me I know lol. I try to let the kids bring things to help make sure they are comfy in the backseat and blankets so they can hopefully take a nap, lol. Be sure your little ones dress comfortable, bring plenty of snack, wipes, and a pillow or four lol.
