Family time is important for so many different reasons. From the time I was little family has always been one of the most important things in my life.
Spending time together as a family is important for building a strong family bond, creating lasting memories, and showing one another how much they matter. As parents, we don’t have to spend a lot of money on our children or shower them with tons of gifts because they will not remember the physical items when they are older. They will, however, remember the time that we spend with them and the things we did together.
6 Reasons Family Time Is Important
Here are a few of the many reasons family time is important.
1) Stronger family bond
The more time we spend with our children, the more we learn about them, their hobbies, favorite movies, books, issues at school, etc. Spending time together as a family helps create a stronger family connection.
2) Lasting memories for the kids
When I think back to when I was a child, I don’t remember the items I received. I remember the things I did with my parents, the conversations we had, and remembering all my family memories helps me realize how important it is to create lasting memories with my children. Of course, I hope my children will remember the same and want to do the same with their families.
3) Stronger bond between siblings
While spending time with each child individually is important, so is family time. It can help them to see and understand how important they each are and how each of them play an important part in the family. Rather than seeing their sibling as superior, spending time together as a family can help them see one another as an equal which can help create a stronger bond between siblings. It can also help them understand the importance of family.
4) Stay connected with children as they grow
Spending quality time together as a family helps parent’s maintain a happy and healthy relationship with their children as they grow. As children get older and parents get busy at work it’s easy to lose that connection. Having family time helps ensure parents and children stay connected. Plus, as children get older I’ve learned they tend to open up more when they’re in a good environment and feel comfortable. Family night is a great way to keep an open connection with your children as they grow up.
5) Communication is easier
When you spend time together as a family, you tend to be closer, which makes it easier for everyone to communicate.
6) Memories for mom and dad
There will be a day when all the children will be gone. Spend as much time together as possible, so you have memories to look back on. Remembering those family camping trips, or your weekly family movie night with pizz. It’s something you can hold on to forever.
We have family night once a week, which typically consists of a fun board game, a movie we all agree on, and dinner either made by the kids or we choose dinner from somewhere like Papa Johns.
My kids always want Papa Johns Pizza for family night, which is okay for us because we know that Papa Johns is dedicated to offering quality ingredients and we all know – Better Ingredients. Better Pizza. Even Skittles loves Papa John’s, if he’s nice now and then my son will hook him up with a bite.
If anyone in the family loves Papa John’s pizza the most, it’s my son. I tried to get him to smile in this picture, but he was too busy with his pizza to smile, lol. Every year for his birthday, he doesn’t get a birthday cake, he gets a Papa John’s pizza with candles on it because that’s what he requests every single year. His very own pizza that he doesn’t have to share with anyone, not even Skittles because he knows Better Ingredients, Better Pizza
Papa John’s first opened their doors over 30 years ago, with more than 4,600 locations in 34 countries around the world quality is at their core. They also understand that for us it’s not just a better pizza. It’s family night, a memorable night with friends, birthday celebrations, or just a good meal for our family. Regardless of the reasons Papa Johns has a goal to provide the best ingredients for every memorable moment.
Papa John’s uses fresh dough made at one of their Quality Control Centers and is delivered fresh, not frozen, to Papa John’s restaurants. Don’t forget about the real meat, real cheese, nicely presented olives, incredible signature sauce, fresh cut veggies, pepperoni that is grown and sourced in the Mediterranean region, so you have the best ingredients, and the box is made from 100% virgin white liner to help make sure you get the full flavor from your Papa John’s pizza.
