I’m always looking for ways to change up my workout routine. The last thing I want is to get tired of the same old thing day after and. If I want to stay on track with my New Years resolution I need to find ways to keep my workout routine fresh and motivating. My New Year’s resolution is to continue with my weight loss, get fit, and be a healthier person so I can help my family be healthier too. Everything starts with me, if I’m not healthy I can’t expect my family to live a healthy lifestyle.
We all know staying keeping our fitness goals and sticking to weight loss programs can be difficult, especially with the busy lifestyles so many of us lead. I learned part of sticking to a workout routine means keeping things fresh, new, and fun. If I did the same workout routine and ate the same things day after day I wouldn’t still be working toward reaching my weight loss and fitness goals. By thinking ahead and finding new ways to keep myself motivated I have been able to stick to my goals for a while.
15 Tips To Stay On Track With Your Workout Routine and Fitness Goals
Here are a few things I do to keep my workout routine and fitness goals at the top of my list of priorities.
Make a commitment to yourself
My commitment is to stick to my workout routine and reach my fitness goals, but this is a daily commitment for days I don’t want to get up and do something. Whether your goal is to lose weight or get fit, you need to exercise, which means there are days you’re not going to want to. I make myself start my workout and give myself 5 minutes and if I still feel the same way I did when I started I’ll take the day off. Typically, I end up forgetting I didn’t want to workout and continuing my workout routine. I have only allowed myself to skip my workout twice and both times I was sick…
Don’t let the lack of energy stop you
Did you know going for a slow walk at a steady pace or working out at an easy steady pace can help you increase your energy levels? It’s a good idea to have a workout routine for days when you feel a little blah, I like to go on a morning walk.
Music to your ears
There is nothing like listing to an awesome workout playlist while doing your workout routine..
Dancing counts
Don’t forget dancing is an awesome way to workout too. When you’re cleaning house or cooking dinner turn on some music and dance. Nobody ever said dancing can’t be a workout routine.
Look beyond the scale and into the future
Stop, look in the mirror and notice changes and imagine yourself after you reach your goal. Remind yourself that being healthier means having a happier, healthier life. I have a pair of jeans I will fit into, on days I need a little extra push I’ll pull them out to remind myself how important my workout routine is and why I’m working so hard.
You are, can, and will achieve your goals
The second you start feeling like you can’t or don’t want to pull out some pictures or do something you know will help you get your head back on straight. Stop the “I can’t” attitude before it happens.
Don’t forget to do some yoga, it’s fun and a great way to change-up a workout. Plus, you can learn some new yoga moves with your partner for added fun (wink).
Get a workout buddy
Find someone with similar goals to help you remember your goal, why you want to meet it, and be the kick in the booty we need . They can also have great ideas on how to help you achieve your goal and you might have ideas for them.
Inspiration is necessary
Find something that drives you and helps you want to reach your fitness goals and keep up with your workout routine. You can use pictures, tracking your progress and posting it weekly on the fridge, daily pep talk, or anything else that helps inspire you.
Track your progress
Take notice and track your progress so you can look back. For me daily weigh-ins and following my daily workouts help me stay motivated, and when I don’t feel like working out all I need to pick me up is to look at my process. When you begin to get discourage being able to view, your long-term success can help you keep your eyes on the prize.
