Ways To Find Inspiration + Watch Eddie The Eagle Fly

Ways To Find Inspiration + Watch Eddie The Eagle FlyIt’s amazing what we are capable of when we find inspiration to do something.  Everything just seems to flow together; you walk and talk with confidence, and there is often a glow about people who are feeling inspired about something – work, home, sports, or maybe you are just inspired to live each day to the fullest.  Regardless, feeling inspired to do something tends to help you maintain a positive outlook on life which helps when a hurdle comes your way.

Then there are those times when you can’t seem to find any inspiration for something which typically makes the task unenjoyable and if you’re like me, the negative attitude might sneak in from time to time.  I do my best to catch myself before I fall into that deep dark hole where I feel sorry for myself because climbing out isn’t easy.  It’s easier to find something that inspires you or makes you stop for a moment and see the world as it should be.

Are You Feeling Uninspired? Ways To Find Inspiration

Here are a few things that help me find inspiration when I need it the most:

1.) Meditation – Meditation is awesome because you can do it whenever and wherever you are, and it’s free.  Allowing yourself to disconnect from all the world troubles is such an incredible feeling.  After meditating, I always feel relieved, like I just dropped 50 pounds from my shoulders.

2.) Walking – Going for a nice walk and listening to the birds, cars, and everything else that goes on outside is such a relaxing activity.  Plus, it’s a great time just to let your mind wander and think about things.

3.) Play with your kids – Take a bit, let your children choose the game and play with them.  There is nothing that helps bring me back down a notch and focus on the important things in life like playing with my kids.   I love hearing them laugh and seeing them smile.  These are the moments that make life worth living.

4.) Change things up
– Stop with the routine.  Maybe you are like me and need a break from the same thing day after day.

5.) Write – Grab a pen and paper — NOT on the computer — and write whatever comes to mind.  I’ve ended up working out all the world’s problems along with my own doing this. Sometimes it’s things I didn’t even realize were bothering me.

6.) Make goals – I don’t know about you, but I need goals or else I start feeling like I’m at a standstill and not doing anything productive.  Your goals don’t have to be huge.  I like to mix them up because reaching your goals is motivating.  If it takes a year to reach your goal you might lose your motivation along the way.  This is why I like to make small goals that I can reach is a short amount of time and deeper goals that take a bit more time and effort to reach.  This way I always have something to work toward.  This might not work for you, and that’s okay.  Find what works for you and go with it.

7.) Remember everything happens for a reason – I’m serious about this; I wish I would have listened to my mom better when she tried to explain this concept to me.  I thought it was just something she said to help make things a little easier for me when I was upset, but she was right.  I can’t count the times I have been upset because something didn’t happen which ended up being a blessing a few days, weeks, months later — gosh, it could be even longer.  Do your best to remember that we have to experience failure, rejection, and disappointment to appreciate the good things in life.

10.) Who cares what other people think? – If you are worried about what others will do, say or think, STOP!  Who cares what they have to say, think or do; it’s your life, and you are in charge. Eddie The Eagle is an excellent reminder that caring what people think can hold you back from your dreams.

Sit down and enjoy an inspirational movie based on a true story  – The reason I like to watch inspirational movies that are based on a true story like Eddie The Eagle is because it’s real.  Sure it’s a movie, but there is truth to the story being told.  Eddie worked hard to reach his dream.  Regardless of what anyone told him he continued to reach for his dream and he eventually made it.  These are movies that I can walk away from feeling inspired because they help me realize that we can do anything we want if we are willing to work and not let others get in our way.

Now and then, you run into those movies that grab you from the moment you see the first preview.   It’s going to be awesome; Michael “Eddie” Edwards, (Eddie The Eagle) is played by Taron Egerton and his coach, who I have a feel we are going to love, is played by Hugh Jackman.  If you didn’t already know Eddie, The Eagle is a brave and determined young man who became the very first British Ski-Jumper.  No matter what was put in front of him, he didn’t let it stand in his way or slow him down.

Eddie the Eagle MovieEddie ended up winning the hearts of sports fans all over the globe by believing in himself, never giving up on himself, and making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

From the producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service comes a movie about a loveable underdog with plenty heart and an amazing never-say-die attitude on his shoulders.
