I’ve been waiting for today! Do you know what happens tonight at 7:30 pm EST? The opening ceremonies for the 2016 Summer Olympics will be on. It’s something that will be on in my house until the Olympics is over. It’s the one time we can all agree on what to watch, lol.
When I think back to my childhood sports were a huge part of my life. They kept me working hard in school, off the streets and gave me a reason to avoid a lot of trouble. It’s nice to see my kids getting into sports too. They even get all pumped up about the Olympics the way I used to, I mean don’t get me wrong I still enjoy them. It’s just fun to see my kids get excited about something I did as a child; it’s easier to relate.
I miss watching this little guy play baseball! Well, I say that, but he was always more interested in talking and showing off. Okay, and making faces at me while he was on the field, lol. My brother had to remind him to pay attention, watching you children play sports, it doesn’t get better than that. I miss watching Corbin play baseball! He got more into talking, showing off and making silly faces than actually playing the game, lol. His dad coached his team, so he didn’t get away with too much, but it was still fun to make faces at him while he was on the field, lol.
My kids are busy with sports; Mattie is into her dance and gymnastics, and Vayda is about basketball, softball and of course now she’s starting to get into volleyball.
The joys of sports, we also have a swimmer who is in middle school this coming up a year and a the soon to be swimmer Gavin, lol. He is so stinking cute splashing around in the pool and maybe in another two years he’ll be ready to get some swimming lessons under his diaper!
