I made an amazing Turkey Swiss Green Chili and Avocado Panini Sandwiches for dinner last night and my daughter requested one for her school lunch tomorrow. What can I say, she’s a smart girl because they are one of my favorite sandwiches as well.
I’ve always enjoyed making my kids lunches because I love being creative and sending them to school with an awesome character sandwich, their favorite lunch, and OMG I have so much fun around the holidays, lol. It’s important for me to know I put a smile on their face, made them giggle, or just made them feel warm and fuzzy on the inside while they are at school. So when I was asked to partner with Sara Lee® Bread for their awesome “Loveable Lunch Notes” campaign I jumped at the chance.
My daughter Vayda told me she loves it when I do special things because it always brightens her day and reminds her that I’m thinking about her. I’m sure you can imagine that little comment made me step my game up, and I can’t wait for them to open their lunches tomorrow. I have an EXTRA SPECIAL surprise for them thanks to Sara Lee® Bread and their awesome “Loveable Lunch Notes”!
Be Sure to check out Sara Lee® Bread “Loveable Lunch Notes” website so you can print out love notes each week for your little guy or gal. They have 30 different love notes to choose from, they’re fun creative and they’re an excellent way to put a smile on your kids face and let them know you’re thinking of them while they’re at school.
Oh, and before I forget I wanted to make sure and let you know that the Sara Lee® Bread “Loveable Lunch Notes” are customizable to take that extra step in making your kids feel special.. And, for us moms there is an awesome coupon totally worth grabbing.
Sara Lee® Bread is a family favorite and one of the only bread my husband will eat. He’s SUPER picky when it comes to his bread and Sara Lee® has been his bread of choice since I meet him, which is fine with me because Sara Lee® Bread has an AWESOME variety of for our family. The hubby and son are white bread kind of guys and my daughters, and I like to switch things up.
My kids started school yesterday, and one of the first things they asked about was taking their lunch. They’ve always enjoyed taking their lunch, especially because I like to mix things up, so they don’t get bored making the same old sandwich. I told the kids the 1st week of school I would let them pick their lunches. As I mentioned earlier, Vayda decided a Turkey Swiss Green Chili and Avocado Panini Sandwiches, fruit and drink would make the perfect school lunch. I’m going to have to agree with them kids – they’re awesome anytime and make a great school lunch.
Turkey Swiss Green Chili and Avocado Panini Sandwiches
You’ll need the following:
- Sara Lee® Bread of your choice
- Sliced turkey
- Swiss Cheese
- Avocado
- Extra toppings of your choice
Making the Turkey, Swiss, Green Chili and Avocado Panini sandwiches are SUPER easy, check it out:
- Cut up green chili, avocado and anything else you’re planning on adding to your sandwich.
- Build your sandwich and place in a panini press and cook until bread is toasted, golden brown, crisp and it has the lovely grill marks on it. Of course you’ll want to make sure the cheese is melted as well.
- Allow to cool and enjoy or you can place in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator until you make your kids lunches.
TIP: Be sure the kids have something in their lunchbox to keep the sandwich cool because it does need to be kept cool.
Don’t tell, but I put my kids to bed before I made their lunches tonight because I wanted to do something a little special for them, because they are worth it, and I want them to know how much I think about them while they are away! Between you and I, them going back to school has been so hard on me, especially because Mattie is in Kindergarten this year. It made me realize that my kids are growing up, and it makes me sad, lol. On the positive side of things, the kids are loving school and excited about the school year.
What is your kids favorite thing to take for lunch? Will you be placing Sara Lee® Bread “Loveable Lunch Notes” in your child’s lunch?

Yum! These look so good!! Can’t wait to try them.
Looks great and easy to make too!
I’m always looking for new ways to incorporate avocado into some meals, thanks for the share.
I would have to drop the green chiles but other than that this is a fabulous sounding sandwich. I have got to do something to get away from a standard meat and cheese.
This looks like a yummy sandwich, if I were making this for myself I would leave out the avocado. Sara Lee® is such a great brand, I like their cakes. Thank you for sharing this post.
Yes, gotta love Sara Lee.
This looks like a very tasty and healthy sandwich. I need to make some of these for my family.
These love notes are so cute. I will print some out. The sandwich sounds delicious. I will be giving this a try. Thank you for sharing
Thanks, I love the loveable notes from Sara Lee they make saying I love you special for everyone
I would eat a panini but I’d have corned beef or pastrami and Swiss. I’m not fond of turkey or avocado.
That sandwich looks so good. I love avacado’s and wish I could get my kids to eat them! I love the idea of sticking notes in their lunches and I think my oldest would appreciate it since he get’s a bit sad about being away from me.
I am lucky my kids love avacados… When I was little I wouldn’t eat them I would cry when my mom put them in things lol. As an adult they are one of my favorites.
I love this recipe, it sounds delish! I have to substitute the avocado as I am allergic to it. I usually use mushrooms lol as for Love notes in lunches, I have been doing that for years. I have a huge collection of cookie cutters, which I trace and cutout on construction paper. Cut out and then write a little message. My kids love it and it is like they unwrap a hug in the middle of their day
AWWW that is such a fun idea.. I love that you used cookie cutters, so creative.
