9 Uses for ARM & HAMMER™ Super Washing Soda

Here are 9 of our favorite uses for ARM & HAMMER™ Super Washing Soda.

1.) Exhaust Fans/Range Hoods

Have you ever stopped to look and see just how much grease and dirt gets collected on your range hoods and exhaust fans? OMG, it’s nasty but you can keep them clean by wiping them down with Washing Soda and water solution (1/2 cup Washing Soda and 1 Gallon warm water).

2.) Ovens/Broiler Pans/Range Tops

I don’t know about you, but this is one of the worst jobs in my house and I don’t know what I would do without Washing Soda. My favorite way to clean these areas is by getting a damp sponge, sprinkling Washing Soda on my sponge, cleaning area thoroughly and of course rinsing completely. If you made a Washing Soda solution (1/2 cup Washing Soda and 1 gallon water) to clean your kitchen, then clean the stove last and toss the burners into the mixture and allow them to soak for about 30 minutes. If you didn’t make a Washing Soda & water solution, you might want to do so because soaking your burners removes greasy build up. When finished soaking rinse and allow to dry.

3.) Cookware/Pots/Pans

Want to remove grease from your pans? Oh, or my personal favorite use for Washing Soda- removing those nasty hard to remove burned on stains often found on cookware? To use Washing Soda on cookware, pots, and pans simply sprinkle some dry Washing Soda onto a dampened sponge, wash, and rinse well. You can also make a Washing Soda paste by adding 3 Tablespoons Washing Soda to 1 Tablespoon water, apply the paste to stained areas for about 30 minutes, wash, and rinse well.

FYI: Not for use on aluminum cookware products

4.) Garbage Cans & Small Appliances

Want to clean and freshen your garbage cans, toasters, food processors, electric mixers and the covers of your small appliances? You’ll create the same cleaning solution you used in the bathroom – ½ cup of Washing Soda dissolved in 1 gallon of warm water. Simply wash surfaces and thoroughly rinse.

FYI: Not for use on aluminum appliances

5.) Workshop floor

My husband uses Washing Soda on his workshop floor because it does a great job cutting through all the nasty grease and oil spills that happen in his workshop. He simply pours washing soda on his concrete floor spills, sprinkles a little water to form a paste, allows to sit overnight, scrubs up the messes with a push cleaning brush, and hoses the floors down.

6.) Blinds

Wipe down your blinds with a Washing Soda solution (1/2 cup Washing Soda and 1-gallon water) regularly to keep them clean and free of dust.

7.) Drains

Keep your drains free of build up by pouring 1/2 cup of Washing Soda down and flush with 1 gallon of warm water to keep drains clean and fresh.

8.) Bathroom Cleaner

As you may know, Washing Soda can be used to clean as an all-in-one bathroom cleaner! It helps to dissolve that yucky soap scum caused by hard water and leaves the bathroom looking and smelling clean and fresh.

To use ARM & HAMMER™ Washing Soda as a bathroom cleaner simply dissolve about ½ cup of Washing Soda into a gallon of warm water and scrub tubs, sinks, shower curtains, toilet bowls, and sinks. After you’ve scrubbed everything be sure to rinse well.

FYI: Not for use on fiberglass tubs, tile or sinks.

9.) Laundry

Of course, you can give your laundry detergent a boost by adding Washing Soda when doing laundry, but you can also pretreat your laundry to get rid of hard to remove stains. To give your current laundry detergent a boost add ½ cup of Washing Soda with your laundry detergent at the start of your wash cycle. Pretreat your laundry with Washing Soda by creating a Washing Soda Past (3 Tablespoons Washing Soda and 1 Tablespoon water), applying it to the stain, rubbing together gently, and washing as you normally would.

OMG, I LOVE washing soda.. It’s baking soda’s much taller, buffer, faster, stronger cousin who’s good at pretty much everything lol! I love Washing Soda, have it in my cleaning cabinet at all times. I think you’ll like it too and it’s so much more affordable than so many other cleaners that don’t even work.

I love that stuff. I buy it all of the time. Mix with vinegar in those drains though for a more effective clean.
