DIY Sharpie Extreme Plates, Cups & Even Rain Boots!

by Jenn Brockman

I’ve been planning a special day for the girls and me.  I wanted to take them to the park, let them play a bit and then have some fun with our new Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers.  Of course, the girls were excited to play at the park, but they were SUPER excited to get started on their DIY Sharpie Extreme Plates, Cups and Rain Boots and the day couldn’t have been more perfect!

I love the fall months, the weather in southern New Mexico is perfect this time of year and this year we have been a little warmer than normal which just makes one want to be outside that much more.    My only complaint is that I wish the days were longer, lol.

Playing at the parkThe second we got to the park the girls started bugging me about letting them start on their projects for grandma and grandpa, lol.  I made them play first because the more energy they get playing, the less they are going to argue, lol.

Playing at the parkOh, and I forgot to mention the fact that they brought along our newest member of the family, everyone meets Sasha.  Fun right, bring the dog to the park to play with the kids.  HA-HA, wrong!  Bring the dog to the park, so the kids can play and leave the dog with mom.  Yes, I ended up puppy sitting while the girls played.  Good thing I like Shasha right, lol.

The girls played for a bit and we went for a walk along the river together.  That was great, we chatted, giggled and just enjoyed one another’s company, but the girls couldn’t help but keep asking me if they could get started on their projects.

sharpie extreme diy projectsAfter about an hour I finally gave it and we headed back for the benches where we parked and got everything ready to put our new Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers to the ultimate test with a few fun DIY projects!.  It took the girls all of five minutes to get everything situated so they could start working on their Sharpie Extreme projects!

DIY Projects with Sharpie ExtremeMattie and Vayda were both super excited to get started on their projects we decided to start with the DIY plates and cups for grandma and grandpa.  Both the girls grabbed their markers and argued a little bit about who was going to make the plate for grandma.  Thankfully their little argument didn’t last long because I thought about that beforehand, which is why they are doing a plate and a cup.  This way they can both do something for grandma and grandpa.

DIY Sharpie Extreme Plate Project Vayda ended up doing her plate for grandpa and cup for grandma.  Isn’t her plate cute?  She decided to draw her grandpa fishing because every time she goes to see him they go fishing.

DIY Sharpie Extreme Plate Project Mattie did a plate for grandma and a cup for grandpa.  I helped her a little bit with the flower on the plate, but the rest is all Mattie!  She did a great job!

In case you are wondering how we did our Sharpie Extreme Plates and Cups I’ve included the directions at the bottom of this post, it’s a super easy project that you can do just about anywhere.

Okay, so yea I also helped Mattie with her puppy and kitty on the toes of her rain boots, lol.  Super cute right!  The girls liked them so much they wore them to school the next day, thankfully it rained, lol.  I was honestly

I was honestly surprised there were any drawings left on them, but our new NEW Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers held up to the test.  I always have Sharpie’s on hand, and I’ll buy more of the Sharpie Extreme markers for around they house because they come in handy for everything from labeling your kid’s school supplies to a fun day at the park doing DIY projects with the kids.

The NEW Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers provide long-lasting bold color that will resist fading even in the most challenging conditions – rain, snow, mud, and even UV rays.

You’ll need the following materials:

  • White Dishes
  • Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers
  • Oven

Directions:

  • Have fun and decorate your plates and cups!  Let the kids draw as little or as much as they like.
  • Once the plates are finished and completely dry (we allowed ours to sit overnight just to be safe) put them in the oven for about 30 minutes and allow them to sit for 24 to 48 hours.

Materials

  • Rain Boots
  • Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers

Directions

  • Decorate your rain boots and allow to dry.  The NEW Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers only take a few minutes to dry, but I made Mattie let her rain boots sit overnight.  However, she did wear them at the park right after we decorated them and everything stayed on just like it was supposed to.

What will you use NEW Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers for this fall?

This is a sponsored post written by me for Sharpie.  All opinion are my own, we are loving these NEW Sharpie Extreme Permanent Markers. I hope you’ll give them a try and let us know what your opinion is by leaving us a comment below.  The plates and cups are for decoration only.

They made such cute gifts for the grandparents. Good idea of yours to have two things so they could each make one.

I absolutely love this idea. I have a bunch of sharpies and use them for making labels for my canning products. I am going to do this. What a great gift for my mother. She will adore it.

I LOVE Sharpies! I’m a teacher and I have to hide my set from my students all the time bc they snag ’em from me! They have their bins, and I have mine:-) I adore these projects/gifts you guys made for Grandma and Grandpa! Thank you for the instructions too…I didn’t know about the oven part! Also, hey Sasha! You are tooooo cute!
