5 Beautiful Vacation Spots to Cure Your Winter Blues

Winter is a beautiful time, and that means the Holidays are here too. But, if you aren’t too keen to stick around during the cold months, it’s good to have an idea of some of the best places to visit. There are quite a few venues to enjoy during the cold months, and we love to stay at Residence Inn by Marriott because of their great rooms, amenities, and top of the service line team. If we ever plan a trip out of town, out of state, or even out of the country, we usually plan our trip according to the nearest Residence Inn. Luckily, I have done the foot work for you and have found six warm & beautiful spots to cure your winter blues, and there’s a Residence at each destination! 1.) Rio de Janeiro

Everyone knows Rio is a party capital of the world, but there’s much more to the night life of this Brazilian city. While visiting, it’s imperative to catch a show like the Plataforma Samba Show that will knock your socks off and get you grooving along with the talented dancers. Of course, if you are more of the historical and outdoorsy type you’ll have to hike up to see the Statue of Christ the Redeemer at the Corcovado Mountain. A half day guided walking tour takes you to sites like the Imperial Palace and the Sao Bento Monastery, filling you in with all the rich cultural history. The Chacara de Ceu Museum is set amongst the beautiful jungle flora and has a nice view of the city. SO, when you don’t want to get snowed in and have icicles as your window view, then head down the Residence Inn Rio de Janeiro Barra de Tijuca and stay for a while.

2.) Costa Rica

Costa Rica has long been known for its beautiful scenery and a vast variety of wildlife. It’s time to experience that with your family this winter! Hit up the National Museum of Costa Rica and the Children’s Museum with a great history for both you and your kids. There is also the Pacific Marine Park with all sorts of animals to view and observe as well as lots of animals that are in the Conservation Program. It’s a great way to teach your children, and learn yourself, about the importance of our animals, their homes, and keeping the planet clean and safe for the future.  After a romantic night alone on the secluded beach, let the hubby grab a round of golf while the wifey gallops on a beautiful stallion from the equestrian center. There is something for everyone to cure the cold weather blues!

3.) Denver, CO

Be sure to check out Denver, CO if you love the cool weather, snow and winter sports.  Colorado is one of my favorite places to visit year around.  There is plenty of things one can do in Denver and, even more, a few miles outside of the city and plenty of places to stay like Residence Inn Denver Downtown, Residence Inn Denver Cherry Creek, as well as several other Residence Inn locations.

4.) Hawaii

Have you ever been to Hawaii?  It’s defiantly a place worth visiting, especially if you’re not fond of the cold winter weather.  The ocean is breathtaking; you can visit a tropical wonderland with beautiful mountain views, explore amazing aquatic life, and, of course, taste some of Hawaii’s finest wines.  Stay with Residence Inn Maui Wailea and enjoy free breakfast, WIFi and more.
