Adulting isn’t easy especially once you bring kids into the mix.  It’s not always easy to spend as much time as you would like with your kids.  However, you can’t allow time to pass without sharing quality time with you kids even if it’s a little here and there, just make it quality time.  To help you here are a few fun family activities that encourage creative imaginations.

Here are a few family activities we feel encourage creative imaginations. I hope you find something that helps your encourage your child to use their imagination as much as possible.

Create a time capsule together

This is a lot of fun and a great way to put back some memories.  However, I wouldn’t put it in the back yard, probably in the back of my closest so we could open it later.  You can include things like artwork, notes, school report cards, and any other little items that can stand the test of time.

Themed scavenger hunt

We did a pirate scavenger hunt not too long ago and it was a blast.  All the kids imaginations where on high and they had so much fun.  You can also help their imaginations work overtime with the clues that you decide to leave, it’s a whole lot of fun for everyone and a great way to get those imainatins working.

Plant a tree or flowers together

You’ll likely do most of the work, but I know my kids would be building something in the dirt or telling me a story about how the flower will grow up.  It’s a great way to do something positive and allow their little minds to do what they do best.

Bake

If you’re kids play with Play-Doh or dirt5 they’ll probably be great with dough.  Plus, they will have lods of fun.

Play dress up

Let your kids get dressed up as their favorite character and play until they can’t play no more.

Story time

Switch things up during story time and allow your child to tell you a story.  Yet another great way to encourage those creative imaginations.

Art

Art is a great way to encourage creative imagination, just be sure and ask questions about their drawings.  Want to step it up and give them some watercolors.

So what’s Wonder Park about?

Well, Wonder Park is an amazing story of a magnificent amusement park.  But in this park isn’t like any other park. In this park, the imagination of a creative girl by the name of June comes to life.  It was a magical day and June was running in the woods to find her way home when BAM, she discovers a rollercoaster car.

Of course, she climbs into the rollercoaster car and suddenly June finds herself in Wonderland, but not just any Wonderland.  It’s an amusement park Wonderland she created in her mind and had forgotten about.  The rides and the characters come to life but are falling into disarray without June.  So June has to help her awesome characters by putting the wonder back in Wonderland or it will be lost forever.

Take a moment and watch the trailer for Wonder Park and let me know what you think.  Do you have a character you can’t wait to watch in action?  I’m pumped to watch all of them, but the porcupine and big old blue bear look like they are going to add a lot to the movie.

You can check Wonder Park in theaters on March 15th
