Five Fabulous Tips To Help You Stay Motivated To Lose Weight #DEFINEBRAVE

by Jenn

I struggle to stay motivated with my weight loss, I mean let’s face it, nothing happens overnight.  It takes work, dedication, and now and then you have to trick yourself into staying motivated.  Well, I have tricked myself a time or two, and surprisingly enough it’s worked.  I am still slowly, but surely heading down the right path, and I will meet my goal.  If you catch yourself becoming unmotivated, it’s totally okay, and natural.  You just cannot allow yourself to stop, or you chance being sucked back down the wrong path, and before you know it another year is gone.

Finding the motivation to lose weight can be difficult, but it can be done if you want it bad enough.  If you are looking for ways to stay motivated to lose weight, here are a few things I do that might help.

Life is 10 what happens to me and 90Set a goal

If you have already set a long-term goal, try setting small ones.  Maybe even a daily goal, to get your workout done, and eat right.  I have found making small goals, helps me reach them.  It feels good to reach even the smallest of goals, and it helps keep me motivated until the next day or week.

Make it fun

There is no rule that say you have to walk three miles to lose weight.  You have to be active, yet, but you do not have to visit the gym daily, and do the same old tiring routine.  Rather plan a fun day with your child, go to the park, the river, the lake, or even go hiking together.  Plan on doing something that is fun, such as an outing with the kids, to help keep you active.  You’ll burn more calories hiking in the woods for several hours, than walking with a bad attitude.  Well, at least it feels like I do, and I do not dread hanging out with my children.  It’s fun, and more times than not I come home sore, and it helps me stay motivated yet another day.

Clean your house

When I say clean, I mean clean.  Put on sweat pants, turn up the music and make a day of it.  Sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, they burn calories too.  Maybe even to a squat every time you take something out of the dryer.  Another thing I do is rather than yanking all the cloths out of the dryer. I take one at a time, so a squat to get it out of the drier, while I am placing on the hanger, I stand on my tip toes and go back down, walk to the closet or dresser, place it in the closet, and repeat.  It takes longer, but it changes up your routine and helps you be more active.

Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I canVisit someone who makes you feel great about yourself

My sister-n-law is my go to person, she notices if I have lost 5 pounds, and it helps me feel good about what I am doing, and the lifestyle I am living.  Sometimes all we need is that nice complement, to give us a little extra oomph that we need.

Go get yourself some workout clothes.  I don’t’ know about you, but it helps me feel motivated to not just put on workout clothes, but there is some pretty cute workout clothes out there.  GET SOME, SPOIL YOURSELF.  What you are doing is by no means a walk in the park, and you deserve to have some cute workout clothes.  You know the ones it’s totally okay to run to the store wearing.  Yup, get some, and not to worry you can find them for great prices, and right now you can get a $20 off discount at Katie K activewear online simply by sending them a tweet.
