Lyfeline Milestones Helping Parents Track a Child’s Development

by Jenn Brockman

I think it’s safe to say that most parents wonder whether or not their child’s developmental process is normal and if they are hitting milestones when they should.  Gosh, with my first child I was a mess because I was worried.  People would tell me or I would read about things my child “should” already be doing and I would freak out because I thought something might be wrong with her.  Thankfully I had an awesome pediatrician who answered all my questions and didn’t’ think I was crazy for always coming in.  However,  visiting the doctor always means I pay a copay that quickly adds up, especially when there is nothing wrong which is why I’m so excited to share the Lyfeline app with you.

An app takes up so much less space than all those parents books and magazines that made me worry and Lyfeline covers the areas so many parents worry about when it comes to their baby and toddlers.  The app helps parents by combining data analytics with actionable insights so they can track their child’s developments (0 – 2 years of age) with the assessment that is used by pediatricians.

Lyfeline is still fairly new and I’ve been using it for over a month.  I started out by downloading the app and only using the free services but I quickly upgraded so I could take advantage of all the great premium services.

Here are a few things we are loving about the Lyfeline Milestones app and how it’s helping parents track a child’s development.

1.) Keep your own personal journal – Lyfeline has a personal journal for you to use.  Challenges and assessments will also be saved to your journal so you can look back at them.  Of course, you can add all the good stuff you’d want to keep a journal too like special moments for yourself or baby, significant milestones, and more.  The purpose of this journal is to help you remember what happened and when.

2.) Includes all the categories parents are concerned about – Lyfeline has different “decks of cards” which are basically categories that consist of all the things parents are concerned about when it comes to their young children such as fine motor, gross motor, self-help, social, general, language, physical and parents.

3.) Get to know your child’s developmental process –
Lyfeline is an awesome app that helps you get to know your child.  Everything starts with an assessment of your little ones developmental process.  Of course you want to know whether or not you can trust these assessments.  I don’t blame you I had the same question and I think you’ll be happy to learn the  app then uses proven assessments that are recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the gold standard for pediatric medicine to provide parents with an accurate picture of their child.

After taking assessments for you child in different categories the app will provide you with information about your child’s development, percentile they fall into, and whether they are developing properly for their age.

Complete challenges and improve your child’s development – You can use Lyfeline to improve your child’s development with Lyfeline’s library of specialized information and activities available for you to help your child learn and grow.  It’s worth mentioning that the library of information and activities was created by developmental specialists and was validated by the board of certified pediatricians.

Completing challenges will help your child with development.  There are some great challenges for your child to complete.  You’ll also be provided with information cards from each category that are tailored to your child’s age and development level.  The information cards have all sorts of fabulous information and tips to help you with things such as biting.

6.) Straight to the point – One of my favorite things about this app is that everything is short, sweet and to the point.  There is tons of information out there for parents but so much of it is drawn out, it’s easy to start skimming through pages.  Having information that gets right to the nuts and bolts of things and giving parents the flexibility to focus on what they feel is important.

8.) Chat with experts – You’ll soon be able to use Lyfeline to chat with a network of board certified pediatricians, behavioral specialists and dieticians that can help customize plans for your bundle of joy.

9.) Share your child’s story – Since parenting is a group activity and there are several people who love the baby and want to know about their development you can include them in the experience.   With Lyfeline, you can share milestones as well as keep those who matter most tuned in on your child’s experiences.

Download it FREE – I’m excited to share the Lyfeline app with you and let you know that you can download it for FREE with the option to upgrade to the premium version, which in my opinion is totally worth it.  I’m not the only person loving this app either.  Lyfeline Milestones was launched from two-month Beta testing with 10,000+ users. Two months later, over 60K parents and caregivers have downloaded Milestones because it’s that awesome!  You can download the app free, and take advantage of their in-app Monthly Subscription Premium features.
