Share Some Classic Cartoons With Your Kids

by Jenn

Saturday morning cartoons is a very fond memory and luckily it isn’t a fleeting one. I still love to watch my cartoons that I used to watch as a kid. And, taking some time to share some classic cartoons with my nieces and nephews is a lot of fun too. I love being able to show them some of the shows that we watched as kids and I get to learn what’s cool now. Share some classic cartoons with your kids with Netflix.

Netflix Cartoon Title

My sister’s daughters (my nieces) definitely have her taste in cartoons. Madisyn, the youngest of the bunch, also goes gaga over My Little Pony. It’s great that Netflix has so many episodes of the new My Little Pony animated series. They can get together during a lazy morning in bed and just watch episode after episode of that show.

My brother always loved Spiderman growing up and even now as an adult he is a huge fan. He would play with Spiderman action figures, watch the cartoon show, and make up his own Spiderman games at home. Now that he is a father, his son (my nephew) is just as excited about Spiderman as his dad is. Netflix has the Spiderman cartoon that they can stream and watch together while they shoot their imaginary web and save the day together. Lots of fun is had by both.

It makes my heart feel warm and full to walk by the room and see them laying down and enjoying a show my sister loved as a kid and now my niece gets to enjoy it during her childhood. I can’t wait to be able to pass down some of the classics I watched as a kid to my children. And, there are so many old-school classic cartoons that have been revamped and updated.

Netflix Garfield

I used to watch the original Garfield animated cartoon almost every Saturday morning. I was so excited when I saw the digital version of it on Netflix now. It still has the same grumpy Garfield, hyper Odie, sweet Nermal, and completely clueless John. This series has more humor that refers to things of today that the kids love and it still keeps the same classic jokes. Yes, Garfield still loves lasagna and easily tricks Odie and still has the same “I Hate Mondays,” attitude as always. It definitely keeps everyone watching.

Netflix Family

I think it’s wonderful to see the integration of the new type of animation with such a classic cartoon and it gives me another thing to watch Saturday morning.  The kids, my sister, and I all loved the movie “How To Train Your Dragon.” The kids even have a cat named Toothless.  Now, Netflix has an animated series based on all the characters from that movie. The show is called “Dragons: Race to the Edge” and can be streamed on Netflix anytime you feel like gathering the kids or have a date night with the special someone who is still a kid at heart too.

Be sure to catch all the classics on Netflix, they are sure to bring back some memories of watching these cartoons. I always watched The Magic School Bus and Power Rangers after school when I was in elementary, now I can watch those same shows late at night after a long day. It really is great to let loose and feel like a kid again, and I am so blessed to have my nieces and nephews around to make sure life doesn’t get too serious. Get the kids, get some snacks, and get to streaming on Netflix! Enjoy your Toons!!!
